This place has gone down a bit but you should honestly just come here for the pizza. The staff are so nice, really lovely and the atmosphere is great. However, over the years sadly what used to be an amazing Italian restaurant has lost its way a bit. The pizza — is great. And with mission bay across the road you can get it takeaway if you want and sit on the beach. Would recommend the Hawaiian.

When we walked past the restaurant, it smelled of amazing roasting garlic. My bf and I were determined to try this place. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. My bf’s pizza was very lacking in flavor. The crust was ok and it just seemed as though canned ingredients were thrown on top with a layer of cheese. The chicken liver was ok. It was a bit overcooked and grainy. Then my veal was off. I’m not sure what it was. What made this place barely ok was the sauces on the chicken liver and my veal. It was well seasoned, but it didn’t make up for the proteins they were covering. Perhaps I should have tried something else. My family’s pasta dishes were ok and wasn’t spectacular. The service was really good and the location can fit large parties. Overall, I wouldn’t come here again even if I lived here.

Attended with a large party for a 30th and Mamma Mia’s was delightful. We had a set menu, and for a tonne of entrees plus a main and with corkage coming to $ 35 pp it was well worth it. I had the fettuccine with chicken and mushrooms, and it was packed with both! I ate till I was bursting. The staff were also delightful and attentive even though they were very busy, and the food was fresh and hot and though not mind blowing Itallian, it was still very good. As not a local to the area I do not think I will necessarily return anytime soon, but if you’re looking for a delicious and relatively value for money meal in Mission Bay, then Mamma Mia is not a bad choice. 3 star food, 5 star service

Pizza lover delightful yes the pizza worth the money I was a pig and the pizza was cheesy greasy hot and full of calories exactly how it should be… by the beachside for walk or go get an icecream around the corner.

this restaurant is centrally located in the heart of Mission Bay and you certainly won’t miss it. I went there with a few of my friends and we have a great time! The portion of the meals are reasonable for the price it charges. We ordered the calamari and the bruschetta to start with. The bruschetta is different to the ones i usually get and was disappointed. It was simply tomato on pita bread. The fettuccine chicken mushrooms is so creamy and delicious. Slightly disappointed in the spaghetti marinara, slightly salty. The pizza Mammamia was good. apart from the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant was good however it was a bit hot in the restaurant due to the pizzas oven cer close to the seating area. if you go there on a hot day, remember to get a table close to the entrance for more ventilation. give it a try if you are in the area!

This is another local place I have hardly tried — possibly just ignored due to association(being just another food place in Mission Bay). I had previously tried it one night, dining in, paying an arm and a leg for a massive pizza that wasn’t even that great. I visited again recently, ordering takeaway and was far more impressed. The pasta was delicious, with a thick, creamy sauce. It was a chicken carbonara, with the sauce full of herbs and thus, flavour. The pizza was fairly good also, with tasty toppings. Mamma Mia have definitely picked their game up — particularly with takeaway food often harder to master than with customers dining in. A small trick I learnt is that parking a street behind Mission Bay is very convenient, especially if near the walkway that comes out near the old Glengarry.
