With a warm interior, friendly service and gigantic portions, this place is worth a try. Families and younger people would probably enjoy the most, although it is a little pricey. The house Cobb loaf always looks good. You also have the option of paying an extra $ 5 for double the chicken on the plate. Most meals come with their signature slaw and crispy roast potatoes. Listen to all the old country soundtracks as you tuck into your cowboy sized meal.

Lone Star is one of those places that is always a safe bet. With delicious, and massive servings of delicious pub fare and other fancier meals it is a real crowd pleaser.
This is one of the more recent Lone Star’s even though it’s been here awhile, and it’s still doing really well. The restaurant itself is situated on one of the main roads on the Shore and the upper level looks out over Takapuna Beach. The décor is cool, walking the line between bar and restaurant. There are two levels, so plenty of room, and when it’s busy the vibe is really great.
The staff are always very friendly and there to greet you as soon as you arrive.
The food and drink are awesome and great value. I can never really go past the ribs (get them), but every time I’ve been, the whole table is happy.
A really great option for every type of group, and if dinner turns into a party you won’t need to go anywhere else.

Lonestar may not be the most adventurous restaurant choice, but it is a safe choice. Firstly you know that you are going to get enough to eat. If you are like me and you enjoy pushing the limits of your stomachs elasticity, you will enjoy Lonestar. I am not proud to admit that sometimes when I am choosing a dish from a restaurant’s menu I actually prioritize what I think will be a big meal over what I think will taste good — I do not have to weigh these things up when dining at Lonestar because all the meals are big. No matter how delicious food may be, I find it deeply unsatisfying to be left hungry, the piece of mind I get when looking down at a pile of food that I know will fill me up is really quiet hard to describe.
I rate this restaurant for social occasions, it is well presented with good service, and it doesn’t matter if you occasional raise your voice or laugh out loud.

Lone star is a fantastic place to come for a nice occasion such as a birthday or anniversary. It has a friendly warm casual vibe yet still manages to uphold a great reputation as classy and professional.
My favourite thing about Lone Star has to be the names of the dishes with the «Prawn Star» being my number one. I usually order the «Dixie chicken» which is delicious — HUGE plate and exquisite taste. A must order is the garlic bread where you receive a loaf of bread with garlic butter separate which you put on yourself and the bread is so fresh and fluffy and the garlic butter SO tasty. A must do!
