Little Easy

Look. I like it. Ponsonby is filled with girls in workout clothes who haven’t done much of anything but the little easy make a bloody good bloody marry. Their food is ok and the music is good. Great for people watching and the staff are attentive.

The food was awesome! The original chicken wings are great and yes even supersede there American standard. The truffle burger is the best burger I’ve had in Auckland so far! To top it off fun atmosphere and they brought toys and crayons out for my kiddo.

A few nights ago, I attended my first Mistress Viv’s Bitchin’ Bingo held at Little Easy. I was super excited because I have never tried her particular bingo (but have always wanted to), plus I have only ever been to Little Easy for drinks, so I thought it was a great chance to try out their food, in particular their burgers.
The atmosphere was buzzing when we arrived and eventually, the place was packed — definitely a place to be on a weeknight! The bingo was so much fun, lots of laughs and I highly recommend it. If you are thinking of going, make sure you book ahead as it is very popular and also arrive earlier than the start time for some great pub food and drink!
Our waiters throughout the whole night were super friendly and helpful in terms of what to order for drinks and food, which was great. The ‘Spiced Coffee’ cocktail instantly caught my eye, consisting of Appleton’s rum, Kahlua, espresso and house spiced syrup. It was a dream — creamy, sweet, bitter and nicely presented. I would definitely recommend this cocktail and I can’t wait to go back and have another one!
Little Easy has a great burger selection — from a three patty burger, to a vegetarian one, to pulled pork and there is also a lamb option. I couldn’t go past the 100% pulled pork burger filled with ham, Swiss cheese, slaw and spicy mayo. The burger, WOW! It was huge, juicy, and it had a great kick to it! It was quite filling, so I would recommend sharing it with another person.
Others ordered their vegetarian burger, chicken parma, mac n cheese and chicken and waffles. All dishes were tasty and hit the spot.
We also ordered desserts — chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream, plus three scoops of peanut butter, flat white and banana ice cream. To be honest, the desserts were all a let-​down. The fondant was not runny inside and tasted more like a brownie. The ice cream was very average compared to other ice cream places in Auckland.
Big points to the bingo, the burger, delicious cocktail and of course, Little Easy for their great hospitality — it was an enjoyable night!!!

There are a few times in life where you can experience such highs and lows added with a dash of anxiety and that is Bitchin Bingo !
Little Easy does this on a Tuesday, with Mistress Viv as your bingo caller it really is a change from bingo with your granna at the RSA !
With happy hour specials and $ 10 chicken snittys there isn’t much to complain about .
Great atmosphere and cool prizes, on a Tuesday night I was surprised at how many people were out .

What a great start to creating a good first impressions for me. On a busy Saturday afternoon when everyone was in the area for the Bledisloe final of the All Blacks vs The Wallabies we decided to try ‘Little Easy’ on Ponsonby Road for getting a table for 5 of us for the game.
Downstairs was packed and every spare table had a Reserved sign on it but we were directed upstairs where there were plenty of spare tables, in fact as we were first up there we had our own barman and an empty dance floor (lots of shenanigan’s could happen here under the empty circumstances if enough wine was consumed).
They offer a great Chianti here that I loved and the menu is diverse. My friend had the Chicken Waffles (very American) and very good. My other friends and I just shared some fries, vege/​meat platter and calamari and all were good for what they were. Will definitely remember the venue for the next game and try a main meal next time.

Let’s be honest, Auckland is an overpriced, pretentious city, with a LOT of restaurants pretending to be cool. This place however is the real deal. Fabulous food and they have great deals during the week. This is a real gem.

I’ve recently started going to Little Easy’s ‘stand up Sundays’ which is $ 10 entry for 4 comedians including a headline act. The last two weeks they were Urzila Carlson and Justine Smith (woooo female comediennes!). It also happens to be $ 10 burger night at Little Easy on Sundays (considering they are usually $ 19 this is a pretty good deal!). They have an extensive list of burgers and it is always a struggle trying to choose. So far I have had the Chicken burger and Shrimp Po Boy and sampled the Fish and Lamb. I’m sure by the end of the Stand Up Sundays season I will have tried them all. The Shrimp Po Boy was the most promising so far and had great flavour but it seemed like the shrimp had been re-​heated and wasn’t crisp like it should be. You know when deep fried things are microwaved and they become limp and the batter detaches from the meat? It might have been a one-​off so I won’t rule out ordering it again because I did enjoy, it just could have been better. All burgers are served with a side of shoestring fries. I think one of my favourite things about Little Easy is the staff. They are all so friendly and helpful and give me good advice when I’m tossing up between two burgers.

Agree with everyone else, this is a great bar. But this place is the scene of Bitchin Bingo once a month, and that’s my draw card. Fun night, lively entertainment in the form of Mistress Viv and Andy Juice. Throw in $ 10 meals and this is the best value night out in town!

Love that place. Cannot comment on the food as I only went for the drinks :) but normally Friday night and Saturday it is simply rocking. Just really like the two floors and the atmosphere is normally really easy going and dancing all over the place .a better option that the longroom, with a bit less hype and show-​off.

Great atmosphere & music. Great for groups and if your wanting to get your dance on. Staff are lovely and the venue is also very neat. Gets very busy and can take a while when you line up for a drink. Overall a great Bar and would highly recommend

Went on Monday night and there was a happy hour until 7 pm which includes glasses of house wine for $ 7.50. On Monday night all salads are $ 10 and there are some really scrumy options like pulled pork with iceberg lettuce wedges. They also do other week night specials.
Good lively setting and service was speedy.

This HAS to be the place to be. Had our staff function here. Little Easy staff were amazing and accommodating. The platters were yummo. It has a wonderful relaxed feel for the middle of Ponsonby! The DJs were spinning awesome sounds and as the night went on we just kept on dancin’. Were there from 6pm till 1.30am and the time flew… Which speaks volumes for the kinda night you can have at Little Easy. A special mention for the waitress Amy that looked after us. She is an extra dose of awesome. Took care of all our needs. Always checking to see if we needed a refill and never had to wait long for a drink to turn up even tho it was super busy. Thanks Amy

Beaut place for an after work beer during the week. Great place to watch ‘the game’. The place to be on a Saturday night to see all your pals. Hearty array of vinyl spinning DJs. And last but not least the kai is delicious! The ribs will make your eyes pop out of your head.
I am traditionally not a huge Ponsonby fan thinks its a bit too ponsy for my blood but Little Easy is the right mix of pub vibes with a nice bar fit out so for me breaks the mold of what you would traditionally find in Ponsonby… loving it!

Great Bar for all occasions. So happy it has opened and so close to where I live. So inviting as a lot more space and a great entrance than other bars along Ponsonby. Heaps of room for groups and mates to catch up. Will certainly be returning.
