Howick does ye olde worlde quite well, and Lily Whyte is a fine example. It’s a tiny little shop packed with a select range of lingerie and sleepwear, and has a hearty approach to displaying knickers of all sorts — from bloomers to the laciest next-to-nothings — on the cute little clothesline outside the shop. I like to think of this shop as a kind of feminine pirate ship, flying the flag for lovely undies. Being a small shop, of course the range is limited. You wouldn’t come here if you were looking for the kind of range a department store or chain like Farmers can offer. What you get instead Lily Whyte’s own sense of ultra-feminine, ultra-lacy, reasonably priced lingerie.
