I’m a big fan of farmville. It’s by no means our closest vege store, but I make an effort to call in whenever I’m driving to Ponsonby or Grey Lynn, as the produce is great. The fruit and veg is always fresh and the prices are really reasonable compared to others in the areas. I’ve paid more for considerably lower quality. They also have a shelf of cheap ‘juicing/cooking’ fruits/veges that are a little sad but still fine if you’re not going to eat them fresh, meaning you can get some bulk bargains.
The staff are so friendly, the shop is always super clean and well organised and it’s just generally an experience that makes you not hate needing to go food shopping — always a bonus!

This has to be the most whimsically named greengrocers in the city, and it always makes me laugh a little bit. However, it’s actually a pretty good place once you get past the weird Facebook associations — the fruit and veg here always seems pretty fresh, unlike some of the other greengrocers around who seem to hang onto their produce until the last possible moment. They don’t have a massive range, which is good, as they seem to mostly concentrate on things that are in season, which means they have local-ish things rather than produce flown across the world. They also have a small range of non-fruit/veg such as sauces and the like. Finally, they are always super friendly here so it’s always a pleasure going there.
