Saw this place as I drove past many times and thought I should check it out. I did see reviews on it before I went so I did place an expectation on it. As I walked in I wasn’t sure on who were customers or who worked there. Things were all over the place and I didn’t know where to look. I ended up quickly getting 2 gluten free raw chocolate balls and a bag of $ 7.50 kale chips –_– I wasn’t greeted with a ‘hi’ from the lady who ‘served’ me– She just walked up to me and looked at me as if waiting for me to make an order or say something. I was initially confused as to whether she was a worker or not. Unfortunately I was slightly disappointed and wouldn’t make an effort to be going there again.

My first review for these guys was back in Feb 2013, so time for an update me thinks… and an upgrade. I recently popped in here for something to eat mid week. They have had a few changes since I lasted visited; less café space for indoor patrons, but more food to buy on the run, from warm homemade lasagnes, to healthy gourmet salads. Something that hadn’t changed was the service, quite blaise to be honest. Friendly-ish. The amount of amazing, delicious food on offfer is the biggest drawcard. The snug little space is really inviting too. The long queue in front of me indicates I am not the only one that thinks so.

This place seemed to have erratic hours for a while, but perhaps they have a new owners as they now seem to be open much more regularly. It’s more of a café than an organic food shop, although you can buy a limited range of produce, bread, and frozen items. The best things in their freezer are the frozen meals, which are usually keenly priced and great if you need a pre-made meal but don’t want one of dubious origin from somewhere else! The reason to come to EarthSeed though is that they are really a little café, one of the few where most of the ingredients are organic, or if not certified organic are free range or spray free. The prices are really good too; hearty sandwiches are around $ 4, and pies the same. They also have a $ 5 special hot lunch every day. I only wish the man behind the counter was slightly friendlier; don’t get me wrong, he’s not rude at all, just not especially welcoming!
