Double Happy Takeaways

This takeaway is just up the road from me but I hardly ever go there. I got fish and chips here when I first moved into the area and I found it disappointing. If you are out this way, you are better off going to the Blue Lagoon on Roberts Road if you want fish and chips. I tried their Chinese food as well and again I was non-​plussed — what I ate was quite greasy and I did not enjoy it. We’re not exactly spoiled for choice for eateries in Te Atatu South but I usually venture further afield (eg to Lincoln Road) if I want takeaway on the weekend. Having said that, I went in and got a portion of hot chips not so long ago and I must say they were quite good. We could do with a good takeaway in the area but until that comes along we have to make do with this joint.

This is my local takeaway shop, to the point that they know what I order when I call and they know me by name when I walk in. They’re food is delicious, my favourite are their chicken chow mein and bami goreang, and they have the best hot chips. The food comes out really quickly and it’s always hot, and they’ll cater it to your own specifications. The only thing is that they are a tad bit expensive for a take away shop, and they’ve put their prices up a few times too. They can get pretty busy because they are quite popular in the area, but they’ve got enough seats, a TV and heaps of magazines to read while you wait for your order.
