Eggs Benedict is a classic but this café does a great job. The added flavor of the roasted tomato, fresh spinach and micro-greens make the dish have a new flavor. This dish is loaded with bacon and was super filling. Bacon and eggs with savory flavors– what’s not to love! I also paired it with a latte and they served it with a delicious little chocolate on the side.

They have specials every night and I caught one that was beautiful. The roast leg of lamb with potatoes vegetables were just what I needed on a cool evening.

Saturday afternoon on a windy day. We enter Corelli’s trying to get a bit out of the wind. Corelli’s is a mix of grandma’s house, mediterranean village café and a student’s apartment living room…(If you enter, you’ll know what I mean). The cakes are served generously and they look and taste like home made. I ordered a Chai Latte and got a thee pot filled with enough quantity for 3 servings in my cup. Taste? Gooooood… I am(yes, again) peeking around: A humongous hamburguer on one side, chiken with rice on the other side. Nice milkshakes in every flavour… They have it all!!! So, for everyone, there is something in here. Expect to like it :)

I love Devonport and readily take any excuse to hop down for a visit in the weekends. One such visit came courtesy of a Grabone voucher from Corellis, so my partner and I made an evening of it. Corellis is nestled just under the Victoria Theatre, and the first things that strike you are the timber floors and lovely airiness that come with the big french doors. I grabbed a pork chop dish polished off with a nice lager, and it was reasonably good — for the price I couldn’t complain. Plan on returning during the day for more café-style fare.

This place is just a lovely and relaxing place to come to, nothing stuffy about Corelli’s. Its a kids friendly café with a little area for the kids which is a life saver for any parents. They have lovely homemade style food which is just so good, tasty and filling. They have a good selection of cakes and the yummiest gluten free chocolate brownies, so good you will be back for more. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the food is a bit of a mixture of New Zealand style and European. I have been back here a number of times and will keep coming back when I’m in Devonport.
