Calcutta Wala

I have been to Calcutta Wala a couple of times now, plus ordered deliveries from them. Gorgeous food every time!
An Indian colleague of mine recommended this place to me and we recently had a team lunch there. We ordered the food before heading to the restaurant and the food was served a few minutes after we arrived, perfect for those who cannot take a long lunch break. Some of the curries look quite the same so we tried each other’s dishes to make sure they were different: they were!
For something a bit unusual and fruity try the Mango chicken, it is delicious! Special mention also goes to the Chicken Tikka Pasinda, I could not taste the banana flavour mentioned on the menu but it was oh so good! The naans are soft and buttery and the rice fluffy and light.
The $ 16.95 lunch deal is great: main + rice + naan + beer or glass of wine; and we were able to choose from any wine on the menu, not only house wine!
It’s one of the best Indian restaurants I have tried in Auckland.
