Bump is a tiny wee coffee shop tucked down Osborne Lne. From the outside it looks pretty rad. The exterior is corrugated iron made rustic with a whitewash finish. The only other feature is a tiny front opening window with potted succulents(my favourite), which when open doubles as a small, high table — perfect for standing coffee dates. Inside there’s room for the coffee machine, the barista and one, maybe two, customers. Clearly, it’s predominately a takeaway spot but there are a couple of tables and stools outside should weather permit. As for the coffee, I wanted to love it but If found it a bit too bitter and acidic. Hopefully, it was just a once off. Coffee varies so much day to day these days, i’ve adopted a ‘three strikes your out’ policy!

I am not a fan of bad espresso. I will literally only bother with a cap if it is silky smooth. This place passed the test! Delicious cap. Also, although there were only three pastries to choose from, the pear Danish was amazing!

Knowing the owner personally, I can tell you that he is dedicated in the works of bringing his customers the best he has to offer. The results did not come from an overnights sleep, but almost eight years of hard working and soul searching. You won’t be disappointed once you’ve tried his products. The discipline and heart that he has to put in, is in every cup!
