Bucklands Beach Waterfront Motel

This is a nice little complex with a fantastic location: they claim they are the only beach front hotel in Auckland, and without looking at every hotel in the city, I’d say they are right. We stayed in a waterfront family unit, and it was really spacious and of course had great views of the harbour. There is a road between you and the beach, but it’s a very quiet road so it’s not a big deal.
The units are well appointed and I could see they would be a great option for families on holiday in Auckland; there’s enough room so you’re not tripping over each other and you could easily send older children to play on the beach whilst adults watched from the balcony. It’s also just along the road from a dairy, Thai takeaway and fish & chip shop.
The only slightly negative thing I’d say is that these rooms are slightly pricy if it’s just the two of you; for less money you could stay somewhere like the Amora (for example), so perhaps they should have a look at adjusting their rates to take this into account.
