I go to have breakfast. I like jasmine tea in There is also a recipe variously.

We come here about every second or third weekend, although it is getting more popular and therefore increasingly difficult to get a table. The staff are fabulously friendly and the food is great. The medium breakfast is my favorite, closely followed by the croquette, with bacon instead of salmon. I don’t drink coffee but apparently, according to my friend the coffee is also fantastic. I love that they have a choice of three breads and Vogels is one of them!

We went here on Sunday for a coffee and snack to share. It was very quiet because it was late for lunch but a good number of people dropped in for coffees. I ordered a latte and my partner had a lemon ginger brew. I was so disappointed that I didn’t order the brew, it was soo good and refreshing. Will definitely have this next time. We also ordered a BLAT to share. Yum! The bacon was delicious which was a weird experience because i don’t usually like the bacon in NZ The whole sandwich was just a great combination of flavours and the bread was light with no heavy full feeling afterwards. It might have helped that we shared the sambo though I would recommend this place. The food is great and the service is so friendly

This has been our local for a while, based purely on how good the staff is and how consistent the coffee is. The staff are the highlight here as they are all very friendly and welcoming. That’s not to say the food is lacking in anyway. everything I’ve tried here has been great. Highly recommended

Not a fan. I think they are trying to hard. A more relaxed approached is need by all. Food ok. Service is ok. I don’t think Onehunga needs this at all.

This restaurant is exactly what Onehunga needed and it shows because it is literally bust ALL the time. For some reason I was sure that this was a pizza place but when I went it wasn’t at all, I love their tapas menu! It’s very Japanese with things like gyoza, sushi platters and edamame. They do an antipasto platter here that is so cheap! I think the large one is only around $ 15 and it’s really fun to eat because you can just pick at it! The staff are incredible polite and attentive and it’s a lovely place to sit because of it’s warm, comforting décor. The sushi here is like art, this will sound cheesy but it looks like it is made with love and devotion, you almost don’t want to eat it… almost. This place deserves its five stars, if you are ever in the mood for japanese but want a comfortable homely feel you have to come here!

My friend swore this place was excellent, and she’s a real café crawler. She was right about this one. A welcoming interior invites you into this one. I’m not 100% sure why they are called Brick by Brick, but their wooden floors and barrels are truly intriguing. Aside from having delectable bacon and egg breakfasts(though the toast was painfully dry), they have a cabinet that you just want to gobble up in one go. The coffee was so nice I was tempted to buy a second one, which is a rariety for me! I’ve heard about their slightly Asian twang, which makes them rather special. Great food, coffee and service all equal a marvellous experience. My only downside was their lack of parking, but I guess that’s what you get for being in busy Onehunga.

This Japanese-influenced café in Onehunga is open, light and spacious; a great location for breakfast or lunch any day of the week. On offer during the day is the standard European fare — french toast, pancakes, sandwiches, eggs, cabinet snacks and more — and the coffee is also very good; not too much froth and a nice crema. But what makes this place special is that in the evening on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Japanese cuisine, such as Donburi, is available from 5.30pm till 10pm(kitchen closes at 9pm). Unfortunately we visited out of these hours, but judging by the standard of the cabinet food, coffee and service we received, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and try the evening meals Brick by Brick has to offer.
