Great fresh fish… always good and tastes lovely. Good batter. Nice and crispy. I also had a chicken burger which was crumbed and good quality. Chips are fine. My daughter had a pineapple fritter and she said it was awesome. They have all sorts of packages and deals and cater to most. Friday night busy but that should be expected. I waited about 25 minutes. There is a bar a few doors down to get a drink if you fancy or across the road is a video shop. Easy. The young guy behind the counter never gets flustered and is kind and courteous. Well done. Keep up the good work. Inside is pretty tired décor and it could use a freshen up and I’m sure that would improve peoples impression of the quality of the food. Overall really good.

Great fresh fish, and tasty chips. But so slow! Highly recommend phoning in your order, and then possibly tag on another 10mins to make sure it’s ready. No one seems to enjoy working here either, pretty grumpy… But the fish — yum, so good!

Great fish and chips. A local Friday night will be buzzing here. They could do with more staff for these busy nights. Really need to call ahead for the order on these busy night otherwise you will be stuck waiting for like 40 mins. Must try the chicken salts on chips.

We ordered the fresh fish ‘n chips, $ 21 family pack which came with 6 fish, 4 sausages, 2 crabsticks(leave those to the kids) and $ 4 chips, and it fed our army! As the sign states, cooked in vegetable oil so not too greasy, but then again fish ‘n chips demand a little grease. Mopped up with tomato sauce and you don’t even notice. Value for money it is a great meal and eaten at the local park in the shade of a huge tree was even better because there was absolutely no mess to contend with at home. While I waited for the order I got to look at the fresh fish and it all looked good to me. Loads of locals seem to be using this fish shop and that’s a good sign of quality, when they keep coming back. If I’m in the area again and we have a hankering for takeaways, we’ll go for the fish ‘n chip order for sure.

Great little fish and chip shop. They always have super fresh fish, which does make a difference, even in fish n chips. I would say though, a little secret not many will know, and will just top the meal off that much better, is to ask for chicken salt on the chips. It turns them from boring old standard chips to something MUCH more delicious.

Unlike many other fish and chip shops around the Blockhouse Bay/New Lynn area, this place has really good, fresh, fish. They usually offer gurnard, tarakihi and snapper and I’ve never been disappointed about fish quality. It’s usually busy, so I suspect it’s the favourite of a few other locals as well. The chips are OK: not amazing, not terrible, but not memorable. They possibly need a new supplier for their other items though: the potato fritters are near inedible and apparently the burgers are unexciting as well(although I’ve never had one). Stick with your basic fish & chips and you’ll be happy!
