An immensely large and varied selection of great and exiting beers! The bartender is more than wiling to give you a personal combination if you go for the tasting combo called «the plank». What are you waiting for?

A visit to the Cardinal is a must for me when staying in Stavanger. It is always busy whatever day of the week or time of year. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the Cardinal and I always feel like I have come home when I go there. They have a great draft selection and a mighty bottle list with beers from all corners of the globe. They currently have a chilli chocolate stout on draft which was developed in collaboration with a local brewery — I would highly recommend trying it!

I came here for a drink and it was such a nice bar! It has a great cozy feeling when you first walk in with a lot of tables. The beer list is very extensive and the beers on tap give you plenty more options. The interior seemed to really reflect Stavanger. I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a cozy beer bar to have a drink with some friends.

This place certainly lives up to its reputation. The interior is lovely, with a regal unique take on the traditional British pub setup. The draft beer range is solid, with a nice range of Scandinavian offerings, including numerous from Norway. The bottle list is even more impressive. Numbering into the hundreds, it has a vast diversity of styles from breweries all around the world. The servers were friendly and efficient, and had no issues speaking English. Of course, this being Norway, it isn’t an inexpensive experience.
Overall, this is probably the best beer destination in Stavanger, and if you are in the area it’s a must-​visit place. World-​class.

Littéralement le paradis pour tout ceux qui aiment la bière. On y est très bien servi et les serveurs sont de bon conseil notamment pour la Passion Abduction qui est délicieuse. Le cadre est chaleureux et les gens y sont forts sympathique.

Excellent staff. Lot and lot of beers. Really good, friendly atmosphere. Not too loud. It can get crowed but I do recommend this place. A must go if you are in Stavanger and looking for a place with lot of beer and nice atmosphere.

A local recommended this place, saying that it’s one of the spots she likes to go with her friends. Taking her up on the suggestion, my friends and I went to check it out, and can see why it’s a popular joint. The place was packed, and it was only 7:30 pm! But it’s a large establishment, so while there were a lot of people, it wasn’t overwhelming. We found a table upstairs, and got drinks from the bar. I tried a local beer called White Dog that I really liked, and my friends all tried different beers that were recommended by the bartender. The crowd was mostly young professionals, it seemed. Overall, it was a good time :)

For beers lovers, this is a MUST visit while in Stavanger. Their beer list is quite impressive… and they are quite accommodating for tastings of their tap beers. Cheers!

Visited here in June 2012 and wow, what energy at this place! Lively and energetic yet well-​tempered crowd with cool bartenders and a massive selection. I was particularly happy to find they had several black stouts (I had Konrad’s).
