Stavanger Lufthavn Sola – SVG

Ja so lob ich mir das wirklich. Der Flughafen und alles was dazugehört wird ständig den neuen Ansprüchen angepasst.
Jetzt ist es schon total üblich, sich selbst einzuchecken. Das geht schnell und ist recht unkompliziert.
Die Sicherheitskontrollen sind irgendwie lockerer, also ich meine das Personal. Sie machen ihren Job, aber ich hab das Gefühl, sie sind netter als zum Beispiel in Schönefeld.
Es wird verdammt viel gebaut hier, trotz der Probleme, die wohl mit dem sinkenden Rohölpreis gerade auch für Norwegen entstanden sind.
Innerhalb eines Jahres ist hier im Außenbereich und im Flughafengebäude so viel passiert, dass ich mich nicht mehr einfach so zurecht gefunden habe, ich musste schon ganz schön aufpassen, dass ich dort ankam, wo ich hin wollte.
Naja und das Angebot sowie die Preise im Duty-​free-​Shop kann man mit denen in Deutschland auch nicht vergleichen.
Wenn die Norweger Heim kommen, geht es noch mal durch diesen Laden und dann wird zugeschlagen und raus geschleppt, als gäbe es kein Morgen, manoman…

Nice airport, quite big. The chairs near the baggage claim area look really comfortable, and there are places to grab food and sit down as well.

This airport does not have free WIFI service, however, it does provide free internet access. There is at least one counter with three computer screens where you can surf the net. I logged into my FB account just fine. It was quick. No dial-​up speeds to worry about. I think this is true all over Norway. Norway has one of the fastest average network speeds in the world.
Baggage claim for Norwegian was easy. Right when you come out of the gates, there is literally ½ bag claim areas. I cannot attest to the international baggage claim area. Only local. Easy to navigate around. There are a few convenience stores to get any snacks or necessities.

Incredibly easy to travel in and out of this airport. Small terminal with one gate. Baggage claim takes less than 30 minutes. Two small restaurants on the Mezzanine level offer pizza and traditional Scandinavian food. Drive time from airport to city of Stavanger is 20 – 25 minutes.
Airport is serviced primarily by SAS Airlines. Flights with SAS Airlines frequently stop over in Copenhagen, Oslo and Amsterdam. SAS Airlines has impeccable customer service. On one occasion when my work colleague and I suffered from misrouted luggage, SAS provided us an overnight necessity bag. Necessity bags were gender specific and contained toiletries, grooming items, and even included — get this — an undershirt and change of underwear! Thumbs up, SAS airlines!
Stay awake for the flight in and out of Norway. Absolutely breathtaking views. In my humble opinion, the country’s fjords are the most beautiful sights in the world.
