Dromedar Kaffebar

On this rainy Sunday, I needed a place to sit down and grab a coffee between check-​out from Bergen Apartments (also recommended) and the airport bus. I found this place on Unilocal,2 minutes away, located in pedestrian street Strandgaten. Seems like the only place open on Sundays in this street.
I tried the «søt chili» (sweet chili) coffee which has been recommended earlier here, and it was really worth it. Perfect on a rainy day (which means a great share of days in Bergen). There is also an ice coffee version for sunnier, warmer times.
The place is small, cozy, has apparently been rewarded several times as the best coffee place in the city and offers a lot of specialties. Reading from the menu now I can mention King Kong (Espresso with banana and milk with cinnamon, topped with cream and chocolate), cappuccino ice shake, smoothies, wraps, a lot of different kinds of teas, cookies and cakes, and eco lemonades. I haven’t tried these though… But I would if I had the time, and will next time in Bergen!

Cosy little place in a rather boring pedestrianstreet. Or maybe it was just due to the Bergen-​winter that the feel was a little gloomy… But great coffee!

Not too impressed with the coffee or service, but it was a cool place inside. Might have not ordered the right thing, but my chai tea latte tasted like a pack of liquified big red chewing gum…

With just a few speciality coffee bars in Bergen, Dromodar will find no shortage of enthusiastic customers, and indeed the coffee isn’t bad but being one of Norway’s few coffee chains one can’t escape the feeling that it lacks something of the charm and modesty of say Blom or kaffemisjon. And Perhaps this image isn’t helped by their newest addition in Galleriet shopping centre.

Another one of my favorite places to grab a cup of coffee or dessert in Bergen. Not much to say about the place except it is cozy and has affordable drinks and treats.
