A cute date spot for a nice day. Beautiful walk there through some of the more adorable old houses in Bergen, many great parks to and places for ice cream.
But particularly great for kids (the mini shows which teach you about the amazing animals and their personalities are in Norwegian and English), not big but big enough with all the shows if you time them correctly.
The penguin babies (late spring) are particularly cute if you are here around May/June.
The food is nothing spectacular so be sure to eat before you head out there.
Also, the area behind the aquarium (it’s right on the water) is a prime spot for watching the boats and tall ships in the summer.

My husband was set on the aquarium because his friend that lived in Bergen recommended it. We had fun, but this is mainly for kids. There was a very friendly sea lion, and another one that had a shifty eye. It made our day.
We just walk from our hotel. From the Bryggen is about 20 – 30 minutes walk depending if you get a little lost. But I guess is part of the experience.
