Los Corazones Restaurant

Had a feeling when I walked by and saw the «Los Corazones» font and heart-​shaped mural made up of cooking tools that this place would be pretty solid. I underestimated it! Everything was top notch, from the impeccable and friendly service to the cocktails (mango-​passion fruit margarita was one of the best drinks I’ve had anywhere) to the various courses. I’m sure you can’t go wrong with anything they prepare, but I tried the calamari (sauce was amazing), the shrimp stuffed mushrooms, and chiles gueros with Gouda for appetizers and had the fresh tuna steak for main course — it was perfectly seared and rare inside, just as it should be. Dessert was a passion fruit cheesecake tart. Again, perfection. The other great thing about Los Corazones is the space; you can either sit down on the street and watch stuff/​deal with car noise & fumes, like many of the spots around town, or you can be perched up above it in the airy patio with the bar and open kitchen, which I recommend. Either way, do not even think about missing this place for fine local dining in a relaxed environment.

Today’s catch was Fresh Red Snapper — prepared butterflied and boned fillet — was quite simply the best fish I have ever had — no sauce — nothing. Exquisite.
Marco and the wait staff were passionate, attentive and accommodating.

Great service! Food is amazing! standouts were the coconut shrimp, calamari and the catch of the day, which was snapper. Even the accompanying vegetables were amazing. Oh and the cucumber, jalapeño margarita is on point!

An amazing dinner. First, the service was incredible. We were greeted immediately and shown to a nice table. They had a booster seat for our daughter. The food came at a nice pace, the table cleaned all the time, and servers very knowledgable about what they were serving.
Second, the food was amazing. We had the coconut shrimp and calamari to start. Both were great. We also had a salad with a pesto vinaigrette — amazing lettuces and impeccably supremed grapefruit with little goat cheese balls to die for. We followed with the chicken relleño which had an amazing sauce. My children split the filet mignon hamburger which was excellent.
Third, the drinks! We had a really good mango passion fruit margarita and then a really amazing cucumber jalapeño lime margarita (twice) it was really, really good.
For our party of 4 adults and 2 children we paid about $ 125 — this includes 6 margaritas which in Seattle could easily run $ 100. So a little expensive for Mexico but an amazing deal anywhere else. Well worth it — go here!

The best salsa and chips (sweet potato chips and a very different cooked salsa). Also, by far the best cocktail we had during our entire trip! Super great people and awesome food! Our first stop when we come back next time.

Sayulita has many dining options from the street food vendors, the traditional Mexican establishments or the beach scene. Los Corazones stands out for its novel menu and exciting takes on Mexican cuisine. Thanks to Unilocal,we found this delightful restaurant just off the main square. Unlike a few other places we have tried in town, service was quick and attentive. Our table of five shared the stuffed mushrooms and coconut shrimp starters. Both were tasty but go for the mushrooms if just one choice.
Two people had the red snapper. It comes beautifully filleted with fresh veggies and avocado. I don’t think snapper can be more nicely prepared. The rest of us had two of their shrimp dishes. Mine was served over a rice. The shrimp were big and fresh. The rice was in a creamy sauce. Okay but I prefer something a little less mushy. Excellent vegetables also added to this dish.
Just one desert choice — passion fruit cheesecake. Don’t know if the dessert choice is always this limited but who cares. 5 forks fought over our single order. As good a cheesecake as you might ever find.
Reasonable prices, excellent service, a great chef. Now don’t know whether to try other Sayulita places or just stick with Los Corazones.

Good food. Efficient friendly service. Pleasant ambience. The menu is not overly extensive but there’s enough to please almost everyone. The place is popular though so get here early or be prepared to wait.
It’s not a place to sit and linger all evening over your meal. Our entrees were set in front of us just as we took the last mouthful of the appetizer, and there’s no dessert menu – just one cheesecake, so we were out of there pretty promptly!

Just as recommended. Very friendly service that works exceedingly hard to make everything just so. Jalapeño-​Cucumber Margarita had a lot going on in it, fancy, flavorful and decently sized. Chicken rellenos were expertly cooked and their poblano Alfredo sauce was memorable.

Another Sayulita gem. Awesome calamari, great steak and seafood, fast service and I heir cucumber jalapeño margarita was amazing! They were on top of the cocktails and beer which was greatly appreciated given how hot it was outside. Will be back — def more fine dining-​ish than other places in town — the food, presentation, ambiance, service all showed that these people are serious foodies. Yum… did I mention the awesome calamari that even my two year old wolfed it down

We had the stuffed mushroom appetizer and it was stellar. My wife got the mahi special and I got the surf & turf. Both were outstanding!
This was a great find. We’ll definitely be back!

We have eaten here 3 times over 2 years and it is fantastic. We have tried everything on the menu. It would be considered Italian, Mexican fusion. The chef is from Puerto Vallarta and his wife is from Portland. They are friendly, attentive and run a top notch establishment. They remember us when we return and they are good with children. Standouts are the calamari, the rellaño app that’s a pesto base, coconut shrimp, the filet, the fish catch of the day. Actually hard to narrow down. Not a bad meal in the place. You can occupy your time trying to see how many hearts you can find in some very unique places. We will be back and highly recommend it.

Our first and best meal in Sayulita. Strong, fresh margaritas and food that would be a stand out not just in Sayulita but anywhere. The calamari was tasty and disappeared quickly enough to warrant another order for our table. Their tuna was exceptionally fresh, tender, and grilled to perfection. The service was attentive and pleasant. We would definitely return. A very good value for the quality!

Been coming to sayulita for years and this place has great food and drinks! Perfect place for a nice dinner off the zocalo!

This husband and wife run joint is really rather lovely. Very clean and fresh fish. We came in with a group of about 10 and nearly ordered one of everything. Really lovely staff and service.

Los Corazones, «The Hearts», is the place to go if you like excellent food, ambience, and owners who make you feel welcome! We began with a scrumptous order of Calamari, homemade Sweet Potato Chips, culminating in a delicious sampling of Asparagus soup!
My cousin had the shrimp entrée which was beautifully served, while her husband and mine ordered the tuna steak, which was cooked to perfection and again beautifully served! I had the Filet Mignon, which could compete with any of our finest steak houses here in Dallas, Texas!
Antonio and Katherine, a husband and wife team, are the owners. Antonio is the chef and Katherine assists him by making their guests feel welcome! It goes without saying they put their «hearts» in Los Corazones!
Do yourself a favor and go have an excellent meal at Los Corazones!
