Stayed in Puerto Vallarta for 8 nights. This was our first stop and so thankful it was. Its a couple of blocks from main Zona Romanica, but its nestled in between residential houses and one morning we saw someone washing their cloths in the river below our breakfast nook, I like feeling like I am part of where I am visiting and makes you realize how differently people live Walk a few blocks and you are at the beach, and the Malecon Boardwalk, and the heart of the Romanic Zone. Great hotel, great location. Christina was wonderful. She helped us plan our days, gave us fun things to do and extremely accommodating. I picked out a room based on the online photos(the Scarlett Room). Upon arrival I realized I was not able to get up into the bed with out the help of a step stool and to get into the area with refrigerator and mirror and some outlets is such a tight squeeze and they have a mirror hanging there that swings and it knocked over the little table they had which held a glass candle I brought from home.(I always bring candles as sometimes hotel rooms have that you know hotel-ish smell lol) Anyway I had to stand inside the tub to blow dry my hair otherwise my arm was going to hit something. After our first night I said something to her, and she informed me that she could change our room, there was the green room which she had open and was easier to go straight through to go to the pool and no one was in there right now. I saw this room and immediately asked Christina if we could switch, she said she had to make a phone call but then came up to even help us move our stuff. The people we make breakfast are the same people to do your rooms, and keep the hotel in its pristine condition. They come and pour you coffee and make you whatever you like and they even offer fresh OJ. That being said, it is a type of hotel that you would either love it or hate it. Each room is different, there are painted walls, indoor and outdoor pool(not sure if indoor one can be used, never saw anyone in it) outdoor pool has an honor bar and a blue tooth speaker. If you want a starch white, cookie cutter type of experience, this is not for you. If you want to feel like you are staying in a piece of history or into art, this is totally for you. Would definitely stay here again.

We did not stay here but we were given a detailed tour by the property manager. It is in a serene location in PV. The décor is amazing and a testament to the worldly ways of the hotel’s matriarch. Rooms are everywhere, up stairs and down stairs. We have it on our list to stay here during a future trip.

I stayed at the Rivera Del Rio with my fiancé. We picked this venue for a romantic get away to celebrate our engagement. We loved the unique boutique vibe. Each room was artistically decorated with beautiful murals and charming décor. The friendly staff and beautiful décor made this a trip to remember. Dominique

Gorgeous hidden gem! 8 rooms(I think). WOW! The rooms are beautiful and when you walk out to the back and see the pool and roof bar with hotub, and sweeping views of the city and ocean… breathtaking! Each room is unique, eclectic and wonderfully decorated. Filled with a rich history! Can’t wait to go back there!

Wow, we want to go back! We’re not sure where to start, but the whole experience with Alex and crew was absolutely wonderful! The Rivera del Rio actually felt like an eclectic home away from home. We definitely plan on going back, and have already recommended this wonderful spot right in the middle of old town PV, to all our friends. We can’t say enough about the hospitality, the charm and quirky layout of the building, the rooftop pool, the homemade guacamole, the unique interiors of all the rooms, the friendliness of all the staff. No doubt this stay made our first trip together to PV one that we will never forget! Thank you guys so much for everything, and see you next time! –Marco & Erica
