Holiday Inn Resort

So where do I start. We decided to take 5 days off work and go away on vacation. I looked at the reviews and seems that the negatives that I’ve read is not even close to the great value and positive experience!
The room was #711, and we had the best view ever! Right above the pool and facing the ocean. The bathroom didn’t have a shower curtain so we had to call guest services and there was one sent up to us in less than 5 min! The tub was but dirty and old but we were outside most of the time and the safety deposit box worked no problem. Air conditioning was working well.
The beach is less than 20 steps from you. You can have your meal just right on the beach. Just watch for the peddlers. Not really aggressive just tell them no dinero if you’re not wanting to purchase anything.
The buffet was great for breakfast and lunch, dinner was ok but I suggest if you do the all inclusive to make reservations at the restaurants inside the resort.
We went to La Mariaches and all I can say is Beef steak fajitas will never be the same! You must be dressed up in pants, no shorts. Jeans are acceptable. It’s a fancier setting but the food, delicious drinks and watching the sunset is just bliss! Augustin and Miguel were the best servers and hosts ever. Always had our cups half full and recommended the best dishes. They are such great people and know how to make you feel welcome! Always service with a smile and they even remembered our names. I feel they should be promoted!!! Servive is seriously exceptional!!!
The restaurant where the buffets served is called Guacamaya. How do I start eith this establishment… The front hostess Brenna is always happy and greets you and gives us great seating! I would like to thank Luis, Alfonso, Enrique, Adrian, Donovan and especially our favourite Antelmo. Words can’t express our gratitude for everything! I was buzzing off piña coladas and green ice (piña colada with melon liqueur) and really wanted guacamole and chips. Antelmo asked the hostess and she quoted $ 6 so we said pass, I turn around and he brings us a basket of fresh warm chips and fresh handmade guacamole. That made our whole vacation.
There was a fiesta which was a great experience and the buffet spread was delicious! Muy bien!
All I can say negative about this restaurant and hotel is, I feel the workers and grounds staffed are not tipped enough. Yes I understand that you pay for all inclusive but honestly, does an extra $ 1.00 really hurt your pocket? People complain about the Internet cutting in and out. Well folks your on vacations. Should be relaxing and keeping your mind off social media. If necessary, next to the bar inside the hotel is an Internet comoter station you can use. The other issue is 2 bottles of water per room per day. We ended up having to go to the buffet to get water and inside the hotel there is a gift shop and convenience store you can purchase water. You can walk to the shopping centres as well as Walmart and Sams club about 10 min away.
Other than that, thank you everyone at Holiday Inn resort. We will be back beginning of April for a birthday and WE WILL be bringing others!!! Gracias!!!
