This is another place that my friend-who-frequents-Rocky Point says is a must-visit! He was ever so correct. Once we got ourselves settled into the Resort, we headed here. Unfortunately they were out of chicken for the evening and only had the sides, so naturally we left, with plans to return at some point that weekend. When we did on Sunday, the grill/oven was at full-blast! We were directed to sit down at any table. Since the menu is simple [chicken, beans, rice, sopa fria, bebidas] it took no time to decide what we all wanted to order. We all individually ordered our own food which worked for the best — ¼ chicken and some sides. I have never had such amazing/flavorful chicken ever in my life. The sides only added it, as well as the homemade tortillas. Note for those unaware: sopa fria = macaroni salad, NOT cold soup as I suspected. It was a good«starter» for me. The beans had heat and flavor but not overly heated. I think after the conversion I spent roughly $ 7 total for my meal, including a awesomely-designed bottle of soda naranja [Fanta]. This is another affordable amazing place to return to for my next trip to Rocky Point!

We came with the plan to eat here and the mindset we would split a whole chicken among 4 of us to be able to eat other things over at El Malecon later on. Man we were wrong. The chicken was so good that we couldn’t stop eating it. $ 140 pesos for 1 whole chicken $ 30 pesos for an order of rice Chicken cones with flour or corn tortillas, salsa cabbage and red onions. So 4 of us ate here for about $ 10(we had our own drinks and they said it was ok to drink them there). The chicken itself is succulent, full of flavor and so juicy. We opted for corn tortillas(honestly Mexican tortillas have such good flavor). Together they make such a wonderful paring. The salsa is not spicy at all but like any usual pollo asado place its more of a salsa fresca than spice. The rice is just like grandma used to make it. You might say that $ 140 is too much for one chicken(as you can usually get 2 pollos asados for $ 150 at other places) but for the taste and quality paying a little more is worth it. They seemed to do more rake out than eating it yet they have tons of seating. Yes this place is highly frequented by tourists but also locals so you know its good.

You just can’t go wrong with Lucas. The chicken is delicious on its own or made into a taco. I normally hate beans but they have delicious beans and their rice is good too. Whenever we bring guests we always eat at Lucas because everyone loves it. The only negatives are they usually run out of beans and rice when they get busy, it’s outside so you sometimes get stray dogs wandering around(and my daughter is terrified of dogs), and they don’t always give us all flour tortillas when we ask for them. Otherwise we love it. A lot of times we just pick up the food and take it back to the house to enjoy.

The Best Darn Grilled Chicken you can get in Rocky Point. Period! It is very slow, it is very hot and humid under the huge palapa … but so worth it!!! Next visit will be a must TOGO Order! Get it — you will love it!

If you’re driving into Puerto Peñasco AKA Rocky Point, you are sure to be hungry from the long drive so you have to make a stop at Pollos Asados Lucas. It’s located on the side of the main road in Sonoyta, right at the first signs of civilization. Tables galore under a hut-like ceiling and the waitresses waiting to serve you some of the best chicken you will ever have. You seat yourself and are immediately greeted. You must order the chicken of course, and don’t forget the rice and beans. The flour tortillas are made in house and are as amazing as you would imagine. *drool* I’m so glad that we stopped here. It should without a doubt be on the list of places to eat while in the area. This is what Mexico is all about.

I have been eating here for years. Great chicken!!! Homemade tortillas, red salsa, and cold drinks. There were three of us. Lunch cost $ 16, and all were full. A must stop when in R.P.

Now this the place to go if you want something authentic and good to eat. Never come to Rocky Point without a visit. The tortillas and chicken are the best. All of the food is prepared on site and excellent. The frijoles and arroz are a great addition to the meal. When you eat here it is a genuine feeling you are in Old Mexico. Stop in go to the refrig and get your drinks go to the counter and order your pollo and additions and wait to be served a wonderful meal. Lucas is easy to find. Don’t miss this one!

Got a tip from the condo owner where we stayed to stop by, pick up a chicken with sides, bring it back to the room. It was delicious!!! Charbroiled to perfection, rice, beans, tortillas, hot sauce, cabbage… for $ 16.00. WOW.

This is an outdoor restaurant along Benito Juarez. It is large, has a thatched roof, wooden chairs and tables. Given it’s an outdoor restaurant, I found it clean; seems well-maintained. Menu is simple — chicken, tortillas, salsa, and you can order sides of beans & rice. All comes with homemade red salsa(not pico de gallo). The charbroiled chicken smelled mouthwatering(also tasted great). The rice and beans were AWESOME. Washing everything down with a Coke and anticipating a walk on Sandy Beach — like stepping back in time to a more relaxed life.

Very, very tasty chicken! Simple menu, no alcohol, warm tortillas, and fresh grilled/broiled chicken either whole($ 12USD), half($ 6), or quarter($ 3). Highly recommended!
