If you are in this area this is a must try! Most fabulous Italian food I have had. The bread and chimichurri is amazing to start. I was in a group of 5 and everyone’s loved their dish ranging from pizza, raviolis, Alfredo, and their specials. I doubt they have one bad thing on the menu

We read the reviews and said lets go. Wow are we glad we did! Great dough for pizza in a humid area. The garlic infused oil for the bread was amazing. We also had the Carbonara with the pillow. Well worth it.
One block off 5^th. Don’t miss it.

Great food and a great atmosphere! We had caprese salad, a four cheese pasta and pizza. Everything was perfect and the staff was great!

Spent 5 nights in Playa and 3 of them eating here! If you want delicious authentic Italian food this is the place to eat!!! First night we had pasta carbonara and the bolgonese — both excellent!!! The next we tried the special which was a shrimp pasta and the ravioli… again both amazing. The last night we tried their pizza, which was good but not as amazing as their pastas. Everything was fresh, all pastas are handmade and the service is impeccable. A must try if you love Italian food!!!

Great Italian food, one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. Clams were the most fresh I could ask, pizza thin and perfect, and pasta, shrimp and squid was amazing. The margarita was little bit small compared to other places in playa, but taste great.

Good American-​style Italian place. Patio/​open seating so sit near the sidewalk if it’s warm out. Had the carbonerra which was done well. Alittle sad there was no house chianti but there were other options availble.

Great Italian food ravioli are to die for!!! I was in Italy for a week in December and this food would have been in my top 3 places I ate while in was there! A must stop while you are on vacation!!!

It was so good we ate here two nights in a row. May have been three but we had to leave lovely Playa Del Carmen. The food was amazing. We have a Vegan, Vegetarian and two meat eaters in our family and they were able to delight us all. The mushroom and tomato bruschetta were incredible. Ask for Joe from Tuscany. Very helpful and attentive waiter. We all raved and are still talking about La Famiglia!

Amazing dinner on my last night In playa. I had the lasagna bologna as which was great. Friend had the trio dish which his gnocchi was literally pillows of love. Had some limoncello to top off the dinner and we were all feeling great. Definitely recommend to anyone in playa. Prices are reasonable as well.

The food is absolutely incredible. Our family had pizza, pasta (gnocchi, ravioli, lasagna), and the seafood special. Everything was very delicious and equal to what you get in Italy. Make a reservation, extremely popular place in Playa.

100% authentic Italian food in Mexico that is absolutely delicious!
I suggest the pasta trio of gnocchi (light and fluffy in a rich sauce), tortellini, and ravioli with a rich mushroom sauce. Just come with a very empty stomach!
Our waitress was great and eager to please. The prices are fair and the menu full of variety. Highly recommended.

Great service we ordered take out, the 4 cheese pizza it was so yummy and great crust. It looks like it’s always busy people even waiting for seats. Is definitely go back when I return to PDC. They also have wifi which is so necessary in PDC!

Wow! This place is definitely up to its reviews! 5 stars all around. Superior service & incredible fresh Italian food. We were greeted & seating right away. Our server was a very nice guy who was informative about the specials and very polite. Complimentary bread while you wait for your meal. We got the fettuccine with pink sauce & sausage as well as the 4 cheese pizza. The pasta was the best I believe I have ever had, even in the states. You can tell the noodles are freshly made and the sauce & sausage were delicious. The pizza was huge! (They only have 1 size), but I was happy to have leftovers to take home:) This was an amazing experience and I will definitely return next time I am in Playa.

I would join the crowd and give it a 5 stars, if not for some hygiene issues with restrooms. For Italian restaurants in Playa del Carmen, there is no better. Home made and genuine cuisine. We had pastas and seafood and all were pleased.
The service is good and friendly. The host was the warmest we have experienced in Mexico.

The food is 5-​star but I felt like the waitress was 3-​stars. Maybe she had an off day. But it’s one of the cutest restaurants in Playa Del Carmen and has amazing pasta. We got the sampler so we could taste more of their delicious food. And the tiramisu made me crave it for days. Must eat here when you’re in the area.

Everything went into slow motion as we ate. Delicious pizza and Italian food. Italian run and terrific quality!

After eating Mexican ²⁴⁄₇ for the first few days in Playa (no complaints), the family was looking for a change and we were in search of a good Italian place. We read Unilocal reviews and hoped for the best. And we got the best.
La Famiglia is completely authentic Italian featuring incredible pastas and delicious pizzas. Being from Chicago we’re spoiled with such great Italian fare that we’re pretty tough critics. This place is right up there with the best I’ve had.
Giuseppe (the owner) couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. Many restaurants would have turned down a party of 12 including 4 kids under five years old and without reservations at prime time. He managed to fit us in nicely in the front, facing the street.
Ordered the Pulpo/​Octopus Salad (simple and clean), Bruschettas (tomatoes were so ripe and fresh), Gnocchi (four cheese, pesto & bolognese) and Pizzas (anchovy, pepperoni, Margherita — damn these were spot on/​authentically Italian!) and entire table shared everything. Good sized portions.
It was so good that we ended up going back a second time for our final dinner in Playa! The second time was even better, as Giuseppe had a great semi-​private room for our caravan on the 2^nd floor balcony. This time around, not only did the food & service impress again, but the vibes — primarily driven by the cool music being pumped through the in-​house system had me Shazzamin’ away song after song.
Our family will always remember the food, music and (most of all) friendly people who hosted and served us those two nights. This is a must stop in Playa.

Wow! Could this place be any better in 2015? The answer is yes. I honestly can’t find a thing wrong with La Famiglia. My wife again got their Carbonara pasta and was just as happy this year as last. I went with their Lobster Pasta and it was basically the finest Lobster Pasta dish I have ever had. They served it inside the lobster and the amount of lobster in the dish was far more than expected.
We made a point of coming here twice even though we were staying in Maroma Beach. The manager remembered us the 2^nd time on the phone when we called to make a reservation and sat us at the same balcony table. What can I say other than «can you please open a location in Orange County, CA?» On second thought, don’t because my diet would go out the window.

The best Italian anywhere near here. Fresh, delicious, authentic, and a wide variety. The pasta is homemade, the atmosphere and staff delightful.

No tengo palabras para describir a La Famiglia. Es sin duda el lugar más italiano que conozco, la pizza es increíble, la pasta siempre al dente y la sazón increíble, insuperable. De esos lugares que lo tienen todo y a un súper buen precio y su ubicación también es súper céntrica en la diez con diez. Amo ir a la Famiglia, todos los detalles súper bien cuidados, musiquita italiana de fondo, el carpaccio se te deshace en la boca, es una cosa deliciosa. Las porciones son gigantes, para que lo tengas en cuenta y no pidas de más, o puedes pedir de más y te lo llevas a casita para la cena. Aparte que ya es uno de los restaurantes que se quedó en el inconsciente del playense como restaurante excelente relación calidad/​precio.
Este lugar es ideal como para invertarse fechas importantes o cualquier excusa para regresar constantemente sin sentir que te asaltaron mientras comías. En un winner, tienes que ir.

Si de comer pizzas ricas se trata, La Famiglia es para mi la mejor opción para adquirirlas en Playa del Carmen. Existen ya distintas franquicias y restaurantes que se han vuelto el hit para turistas y la gente que vive en Playa, pero para mi, esta es la opción para deleitarme verdaderamente comiendo una pizza.
Hay ensaladas, pastas y pizzas; pero lo que yo he probado y por ende recomiendo altamente, son sus pizzas. La pizza con arúgala, jamón serrano, berros y espárragos ¡es exquisita! Está muy bien servida, no se me olvida el las abundantes rebanadas de jamón serrano que le ponen.
Es un lugar en dónde es muy notorio el ambiente italiano… como lo dices su nombre «La Familia», es un ambiente así, cálido en el que puedes ir con tus familiares y amigos. Tiene dos pisos, pero yo te aconsejo el segundo piso porque ahí corre más el aire. No tienen aire acondicionado, pero la realidad es que no es incómodo el lugar, por la amplia ventilación que tiene.

Podría atreverme a decir, que es el mejor Restaurante Italiano de todo Quintana Roo. Es muy cálido, muy agradable, bonito, tranquilo y bien ubicado. Realmente este lugar es excepcional. Y ni siquiera he comenzado a hablar sobre el sabor de sus alimentos.
Si tienen ganas de probar el verdadero sabor italiano, en sus más deliciosas expresiones, no deben de ignorar «La Famiglia». La Lassagna es absolutamente deliciosa, y el Gnocchi es simplemente celestial, al igual que el ravioli, los cortes de carne y así podría seguir. No entenderán lo increíblemente exquisito que es comer en este lugar hasta que lo prueben. Les aseguro que tras una cena en La Famiglia, su percepción de la comida italiana será totalmente diferente.
La recomendación obvia es acompañar su comida o cena con un buen vino y disfrutar una larga sobremesa. Este lugar tiene el ambiente perfecto tanto para una cena romántica, como para cerrar negocios y aplica muy bien también para un grupo de amigos.
La atención del personal es muy cálida y te sientes bienvenido desde que entras al lugar, todo el mundo es atento y amable. El precio me parece que está bastante bien, incluso sin problemas podría pagar un poco más, (Pero no les digan, así están bien y ojalá así se queden).
Si vas a Playa del Carmen, no pierdas esta oportunidad que te dejará encantado. Aunque recomiendo hacer una reserva antes de llegar, ya que es tan bueno, que generalmente está lleno.
¿El mejor restaurante italiano de todo el estado? Posiblemente. Juzguenlo ustedes mismos. ;)

En Playa del Carmen coexisten dos mundos, uno es el de lujo, pensado para los turistas extranjeros, con ambientaciones y decoración bien pensada, restaurantes concepto y boutique, de inversiones enormes y precios acorde.
El otro mundo es el de los restaurantes de precios menores, de ubicaciones no tan estratégicas, con conceptos más sencillos y más normales. La calidad no necesariamente es menor y mucho menos la atención.
Un ejemplo, aunque con sus distinguidas excepciones es la quinta avenida contra la calle 10. Calles paralelas y representantes de estos mundos paralelos.
En la calle 10, un restaurante de comida italiana con pizzas al horno, pasta casera y precios razonables es la Famiglia. La comida es artesanal con un menú conciso y cuidado. La pizza, que puedes comprar también por rebanada para llevar es muy rica. En especial si acaba de salir del horno. Las pastas frescas: los gnocchi con pesto, ragú o gorgonzola. El fetuccini Alfredo y arrabiata para morirse. Las porciones son grandes.
Este lugar es cálido, no pretencioso, agradable y te invita a la sobremesa. Ideal para una botella de vino con los amigos.

Como de buena familia italiana, en especial cuando tu padre es un gran especialista en pizza, mi paladar se volvió muy exquisito con tan importante sabor. Me habían recomendado un lugar de pizza llamado «La Famiglia», un lindo restaurante en la calle diez. Pero al llegar, me enteré que en la carta no sólo eran pizzas, si no también una amplia variedad de platillos de la famosa comida italiana. La masa de las pastas están hechas a mano, como la verdadera cocina de la nonna, sabor a casita y todos los productos que usan son de calidad. El restaurante es atendido por sus propios dueños, haciendo que te sientas en casa, con un muy buen servicio. Pedí pizza de queso, la cual hacen en el momento, en un horno de leña. Acompañé mi cena con una muy buena copa de vino. Sueno como critica de comida, pero la masa era crujiente y muy fina, sólo con recordarla me da hambre nuevamente. Les recomiendo que pidan reservación, ya que siempre está lleno, para que así no tengas que esperar para probar esta deliciosa comida. Si vienen a Playa del Carmen, tienen que pasar si o si a este lindo lugar que nos transporta a través de su sabor, a Italia.
