My first time in Mexico City and first impression. My b&b host pointed me in the direction of this neighborhood. I passed the Maison and doubled back to look at the menu. Deciding to try it out I had a seat. Several helpful waiters attended to me with very close yet mostly silent attention. I chose an old French favorite, steak, béarnaise and fries. I loved every bite. The steak was excellent quality and perfectly medium rare. The béarnaise was flavorful with tarragon and the fries light and crisp. Dessert was cardamom crème brûlée and it too was exceptional. Big congrats and kudos to this place and its impeccable food. The wait staff could lighten up a little, they were very serious. Although if I weren’t alone and in conversation I could understand their quiet and distant attitude.

No me gusto nadaaaa! No hay una buena correspondencia entre precio y calidad. Pedí el filete con morillas nada bueno para mi gusto un sabor muy plano que cansaba al tercer bocado. Los vasos huelen a huevo! Creo que hay mejores platillos en el arlequín bistrot.

Review 300. Time passes by… and it goes fat, sorry, fast. In my review 200 hundred I was a bitch with Kurumasushi, but they deserved it. Now i´ll be kind a lovely with Maison Du Familie located in Mexico City. It all started long ago with Miss Paquita, the founder of Champs Elysees restaurant, she sold baguettes in France before living in Mexico City. She turned a classic french bistro into the most popular among the polititians in the 60´s, 70´s and 80´s. 30 years of non stop success. The owners of the Maison Du Famillie are the same that the Champs Elysees. They put an effort to being great hostess and restauranteurs. The hostess is Miss Paquita´s daughter. It is the same menu as in in the cHamps Elyseés. The beef soup was delectable. I’ve been there twice. The fist i had the oysters, both selections, not bad nut nothing special, you can skip them Sloppy service, all the waiters are fat and distracted, they don’t let you pass when you are walking. The ambiance is a disaster, the best of it is the food. I didn’t like the chorizo, the steak tartar didn’t love it, a friend didn’t like it too and we put lemon on the tartar. The pommes frites with Béarnaise sauce was the most exquisite. The tiramisu cake is a classic from their bakery. They show it to you just out from the oven, delicious. Enjoyable, the terrace is a cool spot. The décor isn’t striking. The best is the food. It is gourmet. The worst is the service. An accomplished project. It is great surprise to see the owners back, The Avernin family made the revival of the year. It can be in the top three restaurants of Mexico right now.
