Wonderful place. Good, simple mexican food. Classy establishment. Lovely, kind, respectful service. The quesadillas are incredible(you get four, one with oaxacan cheese, one squash blossom, mushroom, huitlacoche). Apparently the mole is out of control but we forgot to order it. Treat yourself with an helote to start.

Wow, I love the food of Mexico City but what a find this place was! THANKYOU Unilocal for pointing me in the right direction, The appetizer was more of a meal than an appetizer. Too much food was just enough. Wish I would have found this place sooner.

I recently stayed at the Camino Real hotel while on a business trip. My colleague has spent many a nights here and knows the area pretty well. On our last night he said we are going to a fabulous authentic Mexican restaurant. A 2 minute walk from the hotel brought us to Las Mercedes. The service is impeccable and the menu is diverse an authentic drawing from different regions of Mexico. Our waiter spent a considerable amount of time with us describing the dishes of interest to us. I finally said pork and spicy please. Our appetizers included beef and veggie tacos. My dining companion had the blackened red snapper and I had the shredded pork cooked in banana leaves homemade corn tortillas accompanied my dish. To be honest I could have ordered a dozen more menu offerings as each looked fabulous. If you are in the area this is a must for dinner or even brunch. 6 Unilocal Stars!

This place is absolutely, hands down, a 5 star quality restaurant. If you have the money to spend, then this is the perfect place to go to get authentic high quality Mexican food. The service here is very professional and friendly. They have a great selection of traditional regional food from around Mexico. Some of the food options are actually quite exotic. During my multiple visits here, I tried out the ant eggs(escamol), the crocodile and their crab dishes(the crab is actually cooked right in front of you). All of those dishes are rich, delicious and have an amazing range of flavours. Yes… I actually liked ant eggs. It shocked me too! If their mains weren’t delicious enough, but their desserts are great as well. The #1 dessert you need to try is their crepes! They add alcohol to the dulce sauce and light it on fire. It’s not only a cool little moment, but it is the best tasting crepes and dulce sauce I have ever tasted. In short, the food here is amazing! The service is great! Honestly, some of the best food I have ever had(Mexican or not) has been at this restaurant.
