We serve international vegan dinners inspired by different world cuisines using fresh local produce. Some of the menus we serve include Lebanese, Japanese, Greek, Mexican, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Indian, Thai, and raw vegan. «Lo Que Hay» (lo ke ´ai) translates to «what there is.» Our rotating set menu costs $ 160 pesos and includes 3 courses, a refillable drink, and a dessert. We also offer menu items a la carte. Follow our Facebook page, at LoQueHay Café, to see what we will be serving the same day. We are located inside Hotel MedioMundo, an enchanting ten-​guestroom hotel with colonial architecture and tropical garden patios. Established in August 2001, MedioMundo is celebrating over 13 years of providing travelers from all over the world a welcoming, safe, and serene place to call home while in Merida. Come and enjoy our genuine Yucatecan hospitality and a restful place to come home to after a hard day of vacationing.

Although the hotel has been welcoming travelers to the Yucatan since August 2001, the vegan café opened in January 2014 after the owners and their children decided to live a vegan lifestyle.

Amazing hidden gem! The court yard is beautiful and they have few seats so you don’t sit squeezed together. Music was nice and ambient. Food was really good although it didn’t knock my feet off.

Been in Merida for a few days and my wife and I needed some good vegetables. This place delivered more than we could have ever expected.
First, the ambiance is fantastic. The dining area is outdoors around a small pool and gardens. The kitchen is open and the staff is very hospitable.
The food is good and very reasonably priced. The menu is fixed, but changes daily so you can eat here more than once and not eat the same things. On the night we ate, it was Mediterranean /​Italian. We had four courses for 160 pesos.
My wife wants to eat there every night for the rest of our trip. I might be inclined to agree.

Tranquilo y discreto es como describiría a este lugar, se encuentra con excelente ubicación en el centro de Mérida, el sonido de sus fuentes hará que disfrutes el máximo tu platillo, entre su menú las opciones son veganas y van desde la comida Española, Mexicana, Líbano saber, etc.
La atención y explicación de sus cenas de 3 tiempos son perfectas.
Ampliamente recomendable.

Great restaurant. I am vegan and have had meals at many vegan only restaurants. Often times these restaurants are focused on recreating or re-​imagining something not vegan. Here the focus is on the ingredients and what tastes good. Just so happens to be vegan.
I mean this in the best way possible but this tastes like home cooking. The food is flavorful and soulful. The intent is to be nutritious and satisfy without gimmicks. I wish this sort of place existed where I live.
While I am all about the food the ambiance is great too. Usually a nice playlist of dinner music is playing and the sound of the wind in the trees and the pool create a immersive experience.

This is a vegan place. Normally I am not a vegan fan but after having been in Mérida for a while, I was dying for something without meat.
Lo Que Hay is located inside of a hotel in a outdoor courtyard. I don’t know how they remain open when it’s raining hard but we went there one night after it rained and it seemed fine.
The menu changes every day by nationality and by items as well, which is like their specialty. My husband and I went for Japanese night, Italian and Lebanese I think. My favorite was Italian from them. For the Japanese night the rice in the sushi was a little undercooked.
The food in general is good not excellent. I don’t know how good vegan food could be but this is fine and interesting. The meal normally is 160 pesos per person with tips. Normally it comes with a non-​alcohol drink, a soup, an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert.
Overall it’s good for Mérida because it gives you something different and varieties.

If you’re looking for a vegan restaurant look no further! They serve a 3 course meal (all vegan) for about $ 160 pesos. That includes their freshly squeezed juice, the starter, th second dish, and the entrée, and dessert. You could order al la carte (like I did) for about $ 80 pesos but I think the better deal was to order the three course meal. Mmmm mmmm good! Definitely recommend going here for a wholesome meal that’s totally vegan!

Vayaaan! Es un lugar hermoso para cenar. Está dentro de este hotelito precioso que se llama MedioMundo, fresco y lleno de verde. Por seguridad tienen cerradas las puertas pero no creas que no está en funcionamiento: tienes que tocar la campanita para poder pasar.
El comedor está en medio de un jardincito con alberca y las mesas son así, como de patio. El servicio fue muy amable. Me gustó mucho que las mesas están bien espaciadas.
El concepto del restaurante es que te sirven, como dice su nombre, LO QUE HAY, o sea, un solo menú por noche. La cena completa. Tres tiempos, postre y un agua rellenable por $ 160. También puedes pedir sólo algún plato individual, pero de verdad que vale la pena toda la cena porque está riquísima. Si no tienes mucha hambre puedes hacerle como yo, que íbamos dos y pedimos 1 sola cena; así puedes probar de todo.
Algo que puede ser muy significante para lxs veganxs: La comida aquí no tiene ningún ingrediente de origen animal. Este dato, gente no vegana, desprécienlo: A la comida no le hace falta nada!

¡ATENCIÓNS COMPAÑEROS VEGANOS! Hay un lugar especialmente dedicado a nuestra difícil elección de no comer carne en un país carnívoro. Lo Que Hay Café es nuestro lugar.
Es un restaurante que sin quererlo le enseña a la gente que comer sin productos carnívoros es igual o más rico. Tienen distintos menús dependiendo de la temática que realicen, puede ser italiana, mexicana, libanesa, crudivegana y un sin fin de opciones más.
Tuve la suerte que me tocará la cena libanesa, que consistía en lo siguiente: Platon Meze con hummus, babaghanoush tabouleh acompañado con un pan árabe, sólo en acordarme me da hambre y para no atragantarte que mejor que un té de hierba buena.
Para cerrar la cena no puede faltar el postre, un rico helado de chocolate. Y como son tan buena onda en este restaurante puedes traer tu propia botella de vino o cerveza para acompañar tan ricos platillos.
Este menú tiene un valor de $ 160M.N y quedas pero muy bien.
Ya encontré mi lugar en Mérida para ir a cenar, Lo que hay Café será mi segundo hogar, porque donde está la guatita llena el corazón está contento.

¡Seas o no seas vegano, lo amarás! Se trata de una comida corrida vegana de lo más deliciosa que te puedas imaginar, hay temas, por ejemplo, comida mediterránea, japonesa, libanesa, griega, cena crudivegana, de jalisco, etc., todo hecho con los productos más frescos y saludables, típicos de la región y una sazón que te hará que regreses y cabe mencionar que todo, pero todo, está hecho con mucho amor.
La atención es buenísima, apenas llegas y ya sientes la buena onda y lo saludable. Se encuentra dentro del Hotel MedioMundo, no puedes dejar pasar la oportunidad de vivir esta experiencia. Desde la sopita hasta el postre es una delicia y por si prefieres otra cosa, también ofrecen platillos a la carta.
Regreso sin dudarlo, recomiendo el menú a 3 tiempos por $ 150, ya con bebida incluida, ¡ah! no venden alcohol, por si te querías echar un drink, guárdate las ganas para después o antes, pero tienes que venir, ¡vale totalmente la pena!

Whoa! What a delightful experience. Sitting outside in a courtyard, wonderful food and charming service. When we were seated we were told that it was 3 courses fixed price for $ 160 pesos (about $ 11 US). Actually, I counted 4 intriguing delicious courses, all beautifully prepared, all vegan, all fresh local Yucatan ingredients. Plus all the tamarindo beverage we could drink. We will certainly be back. Sure wish we had a place like this back home.

Didn’t expect to be eating creative and tasty vegan food in a colonial city in Mexico, but we did at Lo Que Hay Café! We went on asian night, the fixed menu was just the right amount of food and you can’t beat the lovely outdoor poolside dining. Expect super friendly service, but bring your own alcohol if you want it!

What love and joy you feel at this place! Lo Que Hay (meaning, «what there is») is a restaurant in the Hotel MedioMundo, near the center of town in Merida. It is run by the owner of the Hotel, who recently became vegan, and decided (after 15 years in business) to finally open a restaurant in her hotel. There are about eight tables, scattered around the fountain/​pool in the back courtyard of the hotel.
The food is completely vegan. There is only one choice each night: a 150-​peso three-​course meal, plus dessert and a (non-​alcoholic) drink. The night we went, there was a pan-​asian theme. It’s delicious, and quite a good deal! It’s evident that the owner takes great pleasure in running the place, and seeing customers happy. There is an «at home» feeling here, which makes you want to come back for more.
We loved it!
