We had been eating breakfast at our hotel for a few days and decided to grab breakfast one day and came upon this café. At first we were impressed with the warm fresh bread but besides that it wasn’t impressive at all. The Mayan omelette was tasteless and even the cucumber and tomato salad was bland. The meal came with bread and two types of mayo to spread on it — I didn’t get that at all and would rather have had jam or butter. Even the orange juice was not fresh and from a box. I guess if you’re kosher this might be a good option but if you’re not there is better and fresher food elsewhere.

Just like Isla Mujeres is an oasis of calm compared to Cancun, the Maya Café is a welcome place to get away from all the tourist shops trying to lure you inside. The place is very clean (including the restroom), the staff is extremely friendly and their smoothies are fantastic.

Their dairy food reminds the good restaurants in Israel .
The kids loved their Pizza, we enjoy the pasta and Shakshukah.
Finished with chocolate dessert and coffee.
The staff are great and friendly. The place is clean and quite. Very close to the main attractions.

This is the place to be if you want peace & quiet. We’ve tried almost all of their coffee on the menu and we were not disappointed. Can’t wait to come back here next year. We’ll be waiting. Awesome island. There’s always parking nearby on the streets no matter what time of day it is. Nice clean establishment.

It should speak volumes that we ate at Maya Café more than any other place while on the island. The continental breakfast at our hotel was no match for this spot, and we found ourselves drinking their delicious juices and eating juevos and homemade bread with homemade jam and soft butter day after day after coming across this place. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly.
