Very convenient location, close to the beautiful old cathedrals. Area is busy and safe. Hotel service was wonderful and very accommodating, and room service is super cheap. After checking in, I did not like my room’s fluorescent lighting, so they allowed me to switch to one with better natural lighting, awesome! This room had enormous french doors that open to a petite patio facing the small plaza fountain. Our shower door did not close all the way so we had to place a towel on the floor to keep the water from escaping into the rest of the bathroom(could be a small fix). The bed was firm, just the way I like it, and bed sheets are thin which was perfect for the hot and humid weather at the time. All in all, it was very clean, staff was very nice and we really enjoyed the beautiful antique and hacienda style of the hotel.

I visited Guadalajara on the summer of 2014. We wanted to experience the central area in a traditional way, and this hotel looks great. From the outside, the hotel is old, but it has a clear unassuming attractive colonial architecture. You can see a verdant courtyard from the street, which was nice and welcoming. The staff at the front desk was friendly and attentive, offering tips about nearby attractions. Now the rooms… for a city dweller, the rooms were austere at best. The light was harsh(bright white fluorescent). The bathrooms are really dated(rusted pipes, cracked tiles, faucet handles that spin in place, 6′ ceilings). The beds mattresses were on the tin side, and the sheets were a bit rough. As for wi-fi, expect to use it only from the front lobby or the courtyard. Using it from your room would be an exercise in patience that even a monk would fail.
