I made the trip down to Ensenada for this very reason. I didn’t eat all day and even worked out to build up the appetite for these fish tacos. They are amazing! I love them. I’m sad that there isn’t anything like this in LA. I’ve had Ricky’s and it’s great but believe me this is another level of delicious! Food Awesome mix it up get some fish and some shrimp. If you are starving you can eat as many as 6 but start with 1 each and see what you like. I like them both equally Service Super fast! Your order is ready in seconds and the people are very sweet Location Parking is tough here but about a block down you can get a spot. Very clean and setup is great to serve several people. Price Posted a pic of prices, super cheap and you are getting so much for your money. I would twice as much for this back home. The tacos are less than $ 1 American… What a steal!!! Extra Sauces are great spicy but that’s how I like it!

Funny how I found this place. The taco shop I wanted to try was closed so the über driver took me here. I ordered one shrimp and one fish taco and they were both so good!!! The batter was so light and crunchy. Be careful with one of the toppings because it’s spicy AF! I almost fainted after my second taco and chugged a refreshing hibiscus drink in 10 second to cool my mouth down.

It seems like every review starts like this, but I have to say it as well: BESTFISHTACOS I’VEEVERHAD! Ok, now that is out of the way, let’s begin. Fish taco, shrimp taco, get them both! I honestly could not decide which one I liked more. The seafood was so fresh and the batter was insanely delicious! It is deep fried right in front of you and comes out piping hot. I was a bit sad that they did not have any agua frescas so I resorted to soda. Other than that, I really have no complaints. This place gets packed easily, but don’t worry, people will leave soon enough and you will have a place to sit. WARNING: the green salsa they have is SPICY. It left me and my friends in so much pain and soda did very little to help. We were a bit emotionally scarred afterwards, but the tacos were so good we could not stop eating. My bf even went for seconds! I miss this place so much… If you’re ever in Mexico, definitely stop by!

Best fish and shrimp tacos I have found in Ensenada MX. Arguably the best anywhere!!! Better than even the best local spots in LA(Taco Nazo, Tacos Baja Ensenada etc). Crispy fresh locally caught fish and inexpensive too. Throw on some salsa bandera and crema and you should be all good to go! Warning: one of the house salsas has quite the kick so plz sample before trying. Random location but completely worth the stop when passing through Ensenada.

The batter was so good! My husband ordered a fish taco for himself and I tried just a little bit… That little bit was delicious!

Simply the best fish tacos I’ve ever had were at Tacos Mi Ranchito El Fenix in Ensenada. Both the fish & shrimp were delicious with a crispy/tasty batter, fresh out of the fryer. All the toppings were great, but their salsas were the bomb. The green salsa was HOT and I’m not talking«white people hot.» My wife was laughing at me because my lips turned a burning red from eating so much of that devilish concoction. IMO, it’s worth the trip off the beaten path to find this Baja gem.

Estos tacos no tienen su pinche madre! Woooooooooow!

If you enjoy fresh seafood crudo style then your gonna absolutely love the tostadas and ceviches from the familia of Sabina Bandera. Super fresh and so amazing! Can Anthony Bourdain and all the others who rave be wrong? Check it out and find out what all the fuss is about and prepare to be amazed! Delicious! Oops! Sorry this post was meant for street stand La Guerrerense!

BESTEFFINGFISHTACOSEVER! I will throw it down and make the bold statement! I’ve had my fair share of awesome fish tacos place ranging from LA joints like Ricky and Best Fish taco in Ensenada and Hole Mole. But I’ve always wanted to get it in the motherland. First off, I love fish tacos and where else should you get fish tacos then where they came from, Ensenada. Additionally, even though I had no clue where it was, I just had to ask any locals and each one knew where it was. Warning though, it is away from the tourist strip so I highly recommend getting a taxi if you docked here on a cruise. The place is a little shack(all taco places in Ensenada are shacks) and for 14 pesos you get a fish taco and 16 pesos you get a shrimp taco. For those unfamiliar with the conversion, each bomb taco is under $ 1! Onto the food, the batter was crispy and the veggies were really fresh! Each bite was just heavenly! I literally felt like Harold and Kumar once they reached white castle. Overall, I love this place but now, I will forever be in pain and craving. Now that I know what is the best out there, no fish taco will be the same. If you love fish tacos, you owe it to yourself to give this place a shot!

The green salsa is awesomely spicy, with a flavor that’s uniquely delicious! We were trying to figure out how to get from the cruise terminal to el fenix. Luckily, with our broken Spanish and a kind police officer, we were able to grab a shuttle driver to take us over, wait for us as we grabbed a few fish tacos, and drove us back for $ 6($ 2 there, $ 1 back per person). Totally worth it and a must-eat while hot since the batter is crispy with a little bit of chew, the fish is flaky and melt-in-your-mouth, and dang dude, the green salsa rocked my world. I also liked that it was a build-your-own since our to go box had the fish and seafood hunks in one corner(you have to try both but we actually preferred the seafood to the fish — !!) and the salsa, cabbage, white sauce, corn tortillas(thick, chewy, fresh) popped in too. Best part, we didn’t get sick!

So, this review is for cruise passengers who are looking for the best fish tacos in Ensenada. There are three negatives to this place, 1, they don’t speak any English. If you don’t speak Spanish then you’ll have a hell of a time trying to get their attention, much less place your order and get your food. 2, it’s a bit of a walk from the dock. I’m talking a good 15 – 20 minute stroll if you’re walking at a leisurely pace. Lastly, the flies. It was like every fly in Ensenada was sitting in this restaurant, and flying everywhere. I had to reduce the rating by 1 star due you to these issues. If you can get past all of those things, these are the best fish tacos in Ensenada. The batter is light and crispy, the tortillas are tasty and fresh, the fish tasted delicious, and the condiments are add yourself so you get your taco the way you want it. Let me add that this 4 star rating is under scrutiny by my family who preferred I give them a one or two star rating due to the flies. They had concerns about cleanliness. However, this is a shanty on the side of a road in Mexico, what do you expect?

Yes! Yes! Yes! A must come to taco joint if you’re in Ensenada. I had the fish and shrimp tacos and they were both delicious. The batter was packed with flavor, which gave the taco an overall great taste. One of the best fish tacos in Ensenada hands down! You’re handed the tacos and then get to apply the toppings yourself.

Very good fish tacos but I’m not sure they are so much better than the stands near the fish market or maybe I should say they aren’t so much better that it makes up for the walk into town. One reason is it is a taco cart without a place to sit down. Oh, the salsa’s(green and red) are some of the best spicy and flavorful!

Recomendado.

BEWARE of the green salsa! It is not your typical mild salsa verde… it will set your mouth on fire… but delicious in small doses! I tried both the fish and the shrimp tacos and loved both… but if I had to only choose one again on my next visit, I would choose the shrimp. This is a cute little storefront off the beaten path, but so worth the trip. Lots of toppings options like others have noted… cabbage, pico de gallo, limes, crema, red salsa, salsa verde… all sorts of delicious accompaniments. Not sure I’ll be able to eat fish/shrimp tacos again in SD. I am craving this taco stand right now!

We found this place on Unilocal, ventured off the tourist and party areas on Ensenada, and found some traditional seafood tacos! There are about four ladies who run this place very efficiently. A couple of them serve, one runs the cash register, and another chops veggies and refills salsas, crema, and other toppings. They have a number of toppings from super spicy habanero quacamole, pico de gallo, cabbage, herbed onions, crema, and many more. We got fish and shrimp tacos. The tortillas and a majority of all tortillas in Mexico have the look and taste of home made tortillas, so delicious. The batter on the seafood was really good. There wasn’t really a need to add much but it did make it better to pile on all the additions. Watch out for the guacamole, it has habaneros and it super spicy but tastes great. We tried the horchata and is so much different from what you find in the US, it’s not too sweet taste great and is refreshing. We had a really good meal for $ 10. This place is extremely affordable and worth venturing out to. Later on we ran into a local who we told we are here and she was very excited and recommended this place. If locals love it you know it’s a win!
