Kandy Stahl was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After earning her Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska-​Lincoln, and completing a residency and fellowship in Pediatrics at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, she entered the ranks of academia. After almost 20 years in higher education, both as a professor and an administrator, Kandy decided it was time for her and her husband (Chuck) to retire early and enjoy life.

Moving to Cozumel, Mexico had always been the retirement plan. So, they began living their dream in December, 2010. One cannot help but observe tourists on the island. All around, families come to enjoy a little bit of paradise. Standing at the airport on many occasions to meet their friends who were down for a visit, Kandy and Chuck watched parents trying their best to wrangle luggage, carseats, strollers, playpens, and a host of other baby gear that they had brought with them. They didn’t look too happy to be here. An idea was born!
