Taman botani negara also known as bukit cahaya. I love the environment. The entrance fee for car is rm5. Entrance ticket per person is rm3. You can jogging, pinic, do som family activity or station game inside the park Besides that, you can also rent bicycle. There are two stall that rent bicycle. One is rm10 for first hour and after that each hour rm1. Another stall is rm5 first hour and after that each hour rm1. If you have budget, try the first stall because I felt their service os good and bicycle is newer than second stall. You should reach at 8.30am so that you no need wait for bicycle. I’m excited as I did a event with the committee in the park call bike challenge. Participants need to form a team and ride bicycle and selfie(photo hunt) along the pathway :)

The National Botanical Garden Shah Alam was developed in 1986, and is now widely known as Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam Agriculture Park or some people called it Bukit Cahaya Shah Alam. The park is a conservation centre for the development of botanical, horticultural, floricultural, agricultural and other related field in Malaysia. On top of they have some interesting attractions and activities in the park too. If you love outdoor sports or extreme sports, then try out the Skytek. They have 3 level — Big Thill, Little Adventure, and Extreme Challenge. My colleagues and I tried the Big Thill. I admit it was tough at first, especially when you have to climb up a tree which was quite tall. However, things will start to get better as it goes and once you are used with the height. They’ll have professional staffs at almost every stop to assist if you need any help. I was told they actually have a «short cut» for those who are too scared or unable to complete the entire challenge. I’ve never tried that so wasn’t too sure how fast or easy is the«short cut». Apart from Skytrek, you can opt for something less adventurous such as renting a bicycle and cycle around the park. You can bring some snacks or food and have picnic at the park. This is perfect getaway place, especially if you want to get out from the polluted city air for a while.

As I was the vice-chairperson of a green initiative club in my university, I was invited to join the 2014⁄2015 committee training camp at Taman Negara Shah Alam. This place is huge and there are ample parking spaces. All you need to do is just to pay a small amount of RM3 for the parking and RM3 for entrance fee. Other than the minimum fees that you need to pay, you can either do some light exercise such as jogging or rent a bicycle for a ride. Whichever you choose, it is entertaining and fun especially with your love ones. As for me, I rented a bicycle for RM20(for the 1st hour) and RM1(tentatively after the 1st hour). If you ask me, the price is pretty steep, but it’s worth it especially when you wish to burn some calories and enjoy some quality time with your love ones. It’s pretty far from my place in Cheras but it was a worthy 45 minutes drive to Shah Alam. You wouldn’t want to miss it!
