Setia City Convention Centre

I came here once to attend a wedding and I was blown away with the size of the convention centre! It is HUGE!!! It was tiring to walk around at least for me if I’m wearing heals… This convention centre is located just beside the Setia City Mall and there are a lot of greeneries here… I liked it very much. If you havent know, this convention centre has an eco friendly concept and the go green concept earned them the Green Building Certificate.
This convention centre can accommodate up to 2,000 guests at one time on a sit down and if it is a different setting, it can accommodate up to 3,000 guests.
Since this place is relatively new, price to have a wedding here doesn’t come cheap. It is the KL price or slightly higher for a Chinese wedding. Indian and Malay wedding is similar too… So be sure that you negotiate the packages for wedding or for any other functions before hand.

I’m here for few times attending different functions organized by my company or attending public events. One of the event that I can’t wait for it every year is the Pet Fiesta! It’s organized here every once a year where visitors allow to bring their pets along. Entrance fee is about RM10 per entry. I find it’s fun where this is the only event that you got to see new foods and toys for pets, pets competition, mingle with other pets and owners. There is also a big green field outside the convention centre where allow your pets to play around. I would say this is a pretty success event launch every year.
This convention centre is pretty new as it’s only established in recent years. Big enough to fit the crowd up to 2000 guests. It’s consist of different type of ballrooms and function rooms to serve different type of business or private events. Car parks are available. There is a link for you to walk from convention centre to the shopping mall which only require about 5 minutes walking distance.

Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) is one of the newest and biggest convention center in Shah Alam. I’ve been to this convention hall once for a pet expo. The pet expo was very big, it occupied the whole SCCC. SCCC is a great venue for business events, exhibition and even wedding dinners.
For people who are looking for a place to throw a huge wedding dinner, this place is the right place to be as it can house more than 100 tables at one time and there is no need to worry about parking as they have plenty there (huge parking lot). However, food serve here must be halal food.
This place will be in super high demand among Chinese because we Chinese usually likes throwing a huge, grand wedding. The only downside is that non-​halal food and alcohol are not allowed to be served here. As you all must have already know, wedding dinner is the time where people have a free pass to go all out on alcohol. So, usually the elderly wouldn’t approve a place where alcohol cannot be served.
Nevertheless, SCCC is so huge it is a great venue for events and exhibitions. It would be a great wedding venue if people doesn’t mind not serving non halal food and alcohol.

Setia City Convention Centre is probably one of the most grand, modern and well maintain convention halls that is located in the Klang/​Shah Alam area. This convention centre is located in the heart of Setia Alam which is located just beside Setia City Mall. I have been to this convention hall for a number of occasions such as business convention events, wedding dinners, pet exhibitions and so on. One of the things that I like about this convention centre is that they have an exceptionally big parking space (you can probably park 1,000 cars?) which is a big plus point for those organisers that anticipates a large number of visitors. Other than that, this convention centre is very well designed and it gives me a very premier feel (very plush). However, one thing that I find disappointing is that this convention centre does not allow the the organisers to serve non-​halal food and beverages (especially for those that plan to have wedding dinners here). If there is no such restriction, I believed this would be the number one choice for people in terms of choosing this convention centre as their wedding dinner event.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind using this convention centre for my future events.
