Nice relaxing place with some food to decide for and some drinks available as well. Very crowded on certain times. Shower and spa available as well in the back side

This lounge is better than people are giving it credit for. There is ample seating, high ceilings and a decently large selection of food. The restrooms aren’t as clean as they should be though which is a huge letdown and I’d be scared to use the showers here for reasons of cleanliness. The biggest letdown for me and the reason it gets a 2 and not a 3 is the elimination of hte Hagen Daaz freezer that used to be there. It disappeared in the last five years, and though some parts of the lounge are nicer now, that’s a giant let down for me as an ice cream fanatic. Hopefully MAS gets their act together because right now this lounge is not up to snuff, it doesn’t even have Satay!

This is the flagship lounge for MAS in Kuala Lumpur. Situated in the satellite terminal. When you check in at the reception, you have to show your boarding pass to validate your class of travel or your One World status. I was shown the Business Class Lounge entrance on the left by default. As I have been here before, I had to ask to be allowed in to the Lounge on the right as I am an Emerald FF. this First Class section is smaller and is less crowded. The dining area is better and so is the food. WiFi is complimentary. Service is good. If you have a long stop over, you can request the use of one of their 4 slumber rooms to take a snooze(First Class lounge only).

The Malaysia Airlines Regional Golden Lounge at KLIA has really lost its lustre. Having been a regular patron of the lounge over the years it was a disappointment to find it in the state it was this morning. Other than the café latte there really is nothing left to write home about. The breakfast spread was awful, roasted potatoes were tasteless as were the scrambled eggs. Croissants were not fresh either. What was most disappointing was the presentation of the spread, not befitting the first or business class passengers. MAS certainly has a long way to go towards getting back to the standard that it once was!

Compared to other ‘business lounge’ around the world, MAS Golden Lounge is probably one of the worst I’ve ever been to. Even though the place is spacious and there are enough seats/tables for passengers with power plugs, newspapers and magazines going around, the rest of the lounge is just way below standard. The food choices are limited and the taste is not what you’d expect from a business class lounge. Service is OK but it’s never efficient. Staff are always very laid-back if not uncourteous. The last time i was there, my midnight flight was delayed. Heading back to the golden lounge around 3am, there were nothing left on the buffet counter and the bar was closed. All you get were drinking water and coffees. Also, the wifi is unstable. For a premium lounge, this is truly disappointing. I hope they try to improve their service to keep KLIA a world-class airport. After all, if you are paying so much for business class/first class tickets, you’d expect something more right?

The MAS Golden Lounge is open for MAS passengers. There’s plenty of seats available as the lounge is huge so you won’t have a problem finding a spot to sit while waiting for your flight. There is a big buffet selection available from bread to hot food. However, I came to the lounge at 1am as my flight was at 3am and I was disappointed to note that most of the food was gone and the only thing left to eat was soup and bread. I felt that they should at least cater to the late night flight passengers instead of leaving us with a measly selection. The bar was also closed so I did not get to enjoy the full facilities offered at the lounge. There is wifi available at the airport and lounge so you’ll be able to do some work or browse the internet while waiting. I noticed that the toilets at the lounge were also old and two of the stalls were closed for maintainence. They are in need of an upgrade if they want to compete with other airlines such as Cathay Pacific which offers a very nice lounge way better than the MAS Lounge. There’s also a games room available in the lounge which was a nice touch so that you can make as much noise as you want without disturbing the other passengers.
