Yong Chew Restaurant is near the church that I attend in Sunway Mas. I came to know about this place through my friend who has been going on how good Yong Chew’s food is. As I was told by my friend, the salted egg fried rice takes the cake. Salted egg fried rice, I have never heard about such style before. So I told my fiancé about how Yong Chew’s salted fried rice is really good based on my friend’s recommendation, we decided to give it a try. We went for dinner, parking wasn’t an issue but there were a lot of road works where the car parks were. There were a lot of digging and was really dusty. My nose started to twitch and my sinus came flowing. We ordered the salted fried rice for two and a simple vege dish. Food came pretty was as there were not many people having dinner there at that time. The fried rice was just meh, so-so, average. Nothing great to shout about. I couldn’t taste the salted egg! Oh well. It was a rather cheap dinner so I think that’s fine.

Yong Chew is your typical town restaurant you’d like to love, where they serve comfort Chinese food such as steam fish wit soy sauce, fried beef with broccoli, sweet and sour pork and pan-fried omelette with onions. Well, I’m obviously stating the food i ordered and they don’t taste too bad. They are pretty decent actually. Those food, however, have to be accompanied by their in-house brewed Chinese tea. Just get a pot of five flowers tea or pu-erh and you are good to enjoy the rest of your evening.
