I was told to come here when I wanted ice blended coffee and that their version will put Starbucks to shame. Well then again, I have no opinion about Starbucks, but Library Coffee Bar is worth a shot(no pun intended). The place is very comfy with sofas, and soft cushions, perfect to put your feet up and just relax. I had the espresso mocha shake and boy did that give me a coffee jolt! I don’t have high taste when it comes to coffee and this was just decent in my books, comparing to the ones I have had at other independent coffee joints. They also have liquour infused coffee, which is not surprising given that it is a bar when night falls. To go with coffee, we also tried the waffles there with blueberry topping. I was delighted to find it is the yeasted kind so it is warm and fluffy with the blueberries dripping along the sides and topped with whipped cream. The cream was melty by the time it reached our table due to the warmth from the waffle but still good nonetheless. I wasn’t such a fan of cream so I just had the waffles which was just sweet enough and I was happy to see that the blueberry topping is not overpowering like some places can make them to be. The red velvet cake was just decent, probably just come for the ambiance next time around.

This outlet of The Library is small and rather hidden away compared to the ones, but they have all the beverages The Library is known for and also dessert cakes. They also don’t open up very late though, only until 9pm. Since they are a very basic coffee bar, the few tables they have are outside. This is not the ideal hang out coffee place, unlike their other bigger outlets where they also serve food and have books on the shelf. Nevertheless, if you crave a designer coffee fix and the nearest Starbucks is a 15 minutes’ walk to Empire Damansara, The Library can be alternative. I drop by occasionally for their frothy mocha shake.
