Original Kayu or more famously known as just Kayu is quite crowded at night. Folks of all ages can be seen here. Their selection of side dishes for nasi kandar is quite good with sotong, prawn, chicken, eggs. However, their nasi lemak is also very tasty although it is less famous here. Definitely give it a try.

This mamak is usually where everyone goes to when there is a football match going on. They have big screens and is open 24⁄7 which is probably why they attract huge crowds. I used to enjoy eating at Kayu but i recently feel that the quality of food has dropped. The Maggi mee goreng here is also pricier compared to many mamaks but not any better. The price of nasi kandar with side dishes are quite exorbitant. If I do eat here, it would only be for the roti tissue as they still serve the best roti tissue which is about three feet long– perfectly crispy, buttery and sugary. Parking here is easy as there are always plenty nearby.

Original Kayu — a highclass mamak — is a place where guys flock for late night suppers to catch that late night game of football. Food wise, my grandpa and dad love the nasi kandar served here. The selection of dishes to go witht the nasi kandar are huge! The prawns especially! For me, I usually settle for the usual maggi goreng or indo-mee rebus with telur mata. It’s quite tasty I must say. Other than that, this mamak is just your typical mamak stall. Check out this place if you’re looking for something to eat late at night.

A very ‘happening’ mamak in this area; especially during night time on the weekends. The food here in my opinion, is on the average side. It serves the same as what most mamaks in KL would serve. A lot of people I know love coming to this mamak to just chill and hangout; and even watch football during late nights. There is indoor seating in this restaurant with air conditioning and another space where it is just a regular mamak. There is also outdoor seating when the place gets pretty crowded. Parking here is easy to find, as there are rows of parking lots opposite and in front of this restaurant The food is here is a little bit pricey due to the fact that the food is on the average side and is nothing special to me. But that’s only my opinion.

Original Kayu… yes that’s the full name and people actually say the full name(as there are a lot of Kayu(s) around. Open until late night, Original Kayu serves really good roti canai, roti pisang, and roti planta. I’ve yet to try the rest but I will soon, and I will let you know how they go. The Tandoori chicken is actually quite tender and flavourful. All the spices and marinate is very well-made and it goes really well with naan or even plain white rice. The mint sauce is really creamy with lemon zest flavour; though I still like to eat it without the sauce. I thought the breast part was a little too tough and tiring to chew on but the thigh part is pretty decent. Their mee goreng and maggie goreng is really good here as well. It can get a little too salty but it’s bearable. Their nasi campur is okay as well. Their portions are huge and you will need to stop them from flooding your plate with all the curries… unless that’s how you like it. Go for the fish curry; it’s pretty good compared to the rest.
