Japanese cheesy escargot… doesn’t it sound tasty? I’ve been craving for it since forever and there is one place with this dish and for an affordable price of RM25; it’s at the famous SS2 food court. Look for the red and black sign with Loong Grill Fish and Seafood. The escargot is all drenched with soft cooked egg and cheese. Eat it with rice or just the escargot itself, it’s good enough but as Malaysians, we cannot have a meal without carbs. Order the Lala Mee Hoon and trust me, it’s one of the best dishes ever. It’s not overly cooked nor it’s too drenched in gravy. We also had the fried squid with garlic. It’s basically squid dipped in garlic-flavoured batter before deep-frying them. There’s nothing special about this dish as the taste is very plain but if you like, you can order that with gravy. We took the dry one and we figured, the garlic gravy would be so much better. The stall is open from 4pm until 12am every day except Thursdays. Now you know where to head to for your late night supper.

There are many stalls in SS2 Wai Sek Kai, and most of the time you would have trouble deciding what you want. If you are looking for something different at Wai Sek Kai, then I would recommend you to try Loong Grill Fish & Seafood. Loong Grill Fish & Seafood is located near the entrance opposite of AmBank. They offers selection of seafood such as grilled fish, balitong, lala and many more. I was checking out the stalls and I saw escargot on their menu. Yes, they have escargot! This is probably the cheapest escargot I’ve ever had — RM25. The gravy was cheesy and flavourful — it was delicious! I’m a fan of their balitong too. It’s spicy and it’s packed with the fragrance from the curry leaves. If you are craving for seafood or escargot in particular, Loong Grill Fish & Seafood is a good option. You no longer need to spend big bucks to satisfy your cravings!
