This place is pretty decent, it’s comfortable, food taste alright, pretty hygienic, decent service. Meals are extremely overpriced! I don’t see why the food here is so expensive, especially when their meals consist of mostly veggies and VERY less meat. Veggies are generally cheap yet this restaurant overcharge their customers! I wouldn’t consider their set lunch/dinner cheap either!

I was working nearby one afternoon and managed to finish by lunch time. I decided to look for a place to eat at Jaya One since I had time to kill. That time, I was just learning about Korean cuisine and I came across Kimchiharu. Let’s give it a try I thought to myself. However, at that time I only knew bimbimbap. And yes I ordered it. It was just okay as I compared it to the other places I had tried it. Wasn’t the best nor it was bad. Nonetheless, it was an experience.

I’m not a big fan of Korean food but once in awhile I would find myself at one because of my friends who just so adore Korean culture. This is definitely one of the cheaper Korean food places as compared to most of the Korean food places in PJ. They are non-halal so you get to order pork variety of Korean dishes. The only saving grace of this place if I were to compare to other more up class Korean restaurants. The bibimbap has got very good mixture of ingredients although it may seem ordinary. Be Careful if you’re ordering the hot stone style, you might get burn like how I did for the first time. The price did increase over the years but with the set lunch menu, this is consider cheap as compared to the other Korean restaurants.

This Korean restaurant has been around since my studies few years ago in PJ. There’s a reason why I would always head to this restaurant. There’s cheese topokki for cheese lovers! Unlike the other restaurant this place serve topokki with different varieties — cheese topokki, cabonara topokki & etc apart from the original. You can also pick topokki with noodles if you decided to choose this as your main course. The banchan portion here is small but still looks appealing to taste. The pork kimchi jigae taste ok but unfortunately we could barely find more pork slices inside. I also liked their choices of beverages here, tea or juices which looks quite healthy for us. The interior here makes us feel comfortable to sit in, with contrast to the heaty weather outside. You could also watch running man or other korean programmes non stop at here.

KimchiHaru is one of the longest surviving restaurant in Jaya One. The place is very comfortable and bright, and the service was quite good. For a Korean restaurant, the food considered not too bad — although they are not the best I’ve had. They used to serve side dishes and drinks along with their set menu, but this is not the case anymore. We would need to pay extra for the side dishes that are only average. Personally, I prefer their Sundobu Jiggae instead of the Kimchi. It’s more flavourful and I always go for the pork. The pricing at KimchiHaru considered to be reasonable.

Popped in for a late lunch at KimchiHaru today. Unsurprisingly, the place was almost empty as the lunch crowd had just left. Serving contemporary Korean food, KimchiHaru’s interior does not have the usual exhaust vent extended from the ceiling. Instead, the place is spacious and neat in design. Scanning the menu, I take note of two things; One, they serve pork. Two, dishes are priced quite reasonably for Korean fare. This perked up my mood somewhat. And feeling famished, I ordered a Pork Kimchi Jigae set(RM16.80). That meant it came with side dishes. However, they were not really up to par to your normal Korean restaurants. As for the main dish, I took delight in its explosion of flavours. Spicy and sour, it came steaming hot with rice. My only complain was that pork was pretty scarce. My sister had the Beef Dwenjang Jigae set(RM15.80). Her dish came in generous amount of beef but some of the beef chunks were tough and unchewable, Although what we had were not exceptional, I do see myself coming back here. Weekday lunch promos are at a starting price of RM9.80 which is a bang for your buck and includes Korean staples like Bibimbap. You might have have trouble looking for it though as Jaya One is a maze of indistinguishable buildings. My only input is that it is on the second floor, facing directly at the contruction site.
