I’ve tried so many milk tea outlets but none can compare with Gong Cha! When it first opened, I didn’t think much of the drinks there until I tried their signature winter melon tea. Their signature winter melon tea is really one of a kind. The top layer is filled with a frothy salty layer and the bottom with winter melon tea and black chewy pearls. They also have instructions for the many ways you can enjoy your Gong Cha drink which I think is so clever. Their Roselle drink is also really good. Sadly I can’t remember the name to it. But if you do spot it in the menu, give it a try. The drinks here are moderately priced.

Bubble teas, boy, what can I say about this trend. Not a huge fan but I would try at least once. Of all the bubble tea joints in town, Gong Cha is my favorite probably because it has less of the hype that its contenders like Chatime has. You know what they say, the less people look for it, the more you want it. So anyway, I have visited on a few occasions and I do prefer the tea selections here as they are made pure from tea bags. My favorite is the green tea, they have 2 kinds, the signature and the Taiwanese based. I have tried both and prefer the signature one for it has a robust taste and aroma. The Winter Melon Tea is very good as well and this is a drink you don’t need any sugar for and medium ice. The signature comes with frothy milk with freshly brewed tea but if you want something clearer, you can opt for the brewed tea selection. Another drink I recommend is the Roselle tea, which I was told is good for woman’s skin. The flowery notes are apparent and you can tell it is fresh. For a creative mix, you can try their variety of juice paired with tea for a refreshing treat like grapefuit green tea, peach green tea and even yogurt based drinks with fruit added in. The price for a regular cup of bubble tea is much cheaper than Starbucks and it is definitely my go to drink on a day out.
