Delicate xiao long bau with delicious broth wrapped carefully together with minced pork? I must say this is a skill to master as even the art of picking the xiao long bau up with your chopsticks without breaking it is an effort on its own. Din Tai Fung is best known for their scrumptious xiao long bau made with utmost skill by the chefs trained for years. Service is always quick and the staff all speak mandarin fluently. I also love the pumpkin coated with salted egg as not many restaurants have that dish on their menu. If I want something soupy and lighter, I will opt for their la mian with minced meat and preserved vegetables. The broth isn’t too rich yet light and flavourful enough while the la mian are all handmade noodles thus maintaining the freshness.

Famous for its Dim Sum and noodles! I especially love their xiao long bao and their pork chop la mian. The price is affordable and the food comes fast, so you don’t have to wait to long. Din Tai Fung is an amazing experience for someone who’s interested in the Chinese culture as you get to see the chef tossing hand-pulled noodles, or la mian in chinese, it’s also a sort of entertainment.

Once I had a family lunch at Din Tai Fung at E@Curve and the food did not met up to my expectation. Din Tai Fung is known for their famous siew long pao of which I personally do not think it is any good although there were many people queuing up for a table. I was thankful that my family made reservation and did not have to wait for a table. Why I did not find Din Tai Fung any great because I have tried it in Singapore and the quality was a lot better as compared to its Malaysian franchise. In terms of service, I feel they are doing a good job as they are attentive and food came rather fast upon ordering. Maybe I am just choosy but I wouldn’t queue up for a meal at a Din Tai Fung in Malaysia again unless someone here could convince me otherwise.

Love Din Tai Fung because their food is so good, I love their clear broth ramen with fried pork and fried rice with fried pork along. never get sick of their food because it is that good for me, me and my family enjoy their xiao long pao a lot too! the skin for the xiao long pao is so thin… and the meat inside is so juicy you can just drink the soup in the xiao long pao man… loving their mango pudding as dessert as well, I highly recommended this place for a family dinner.

Unfortunately, amongst all the Din Tai Fung’s. This is the worst outlet as compared to the others. The reason is because of the quality of the food. Somehow after giving them a few tries, they still seem to not been able to produce the exact quality of taste as the other outlets. The best outlet is still the original outlet located on the lower ground floor of Gardens.

If you have a Chinese family, chances are that you have eaten in Din Tai Fung before, and chances are you have eaten in Din Tai Fung every week to the point where you scream for fish and chips while crying for some food that is not Chinese cuisine. Well, I am that ‘you’, and it has been a love and hate relationship to this venerable Chinese cuisine franchise. Its signature dish is xiaolongbao, a dumpling that has pork and hints of chicken broth in it, being a must-choose when you are to eat in this restaurant. I like most of their dumpling related dishes, like the crab roe xiaolongbao and the very fresh shrimp dumplings, both of them being the only staple that I will eat if I ever wish to step into this restaurant with my family again. Of course, there are other dishes that make you wistfully want more and more till your stomach grows to the size of Kanye West’s ego, from the ever tasty fried rice to the four-season long bean that is stir fried along with hints of pork, making it a delicious appetiser for families with picky eaters. I loved their ambience too; its thematic red walls will always flash into my mind when someone even says ‘Din Tai Fung’. Despite all the positivity of this very good restaurant, do try to restrain yourself from constantly going there, or you will end up like me; high and dry, and constantly comparing other similar dishes from other restaurants to the quality of the food here.
