This place is tiny so I always take my coffee to go here. The coffee here is good. But more importantly, the pastries here are AMAZING. I have tried most of what they have on offer like the strawberry danish and lemon tarts, and I like them all. I have a really sweet tooth so it’s always a treat when I walk in here. The croissants are delicious too. I do wish the space isn’t so small. Haven’t had luck trying to sit there so far!

Butter And Beans At Seventeen is a terrible name for a café, but butter and beans are just a terrible combination for coffee, or anything at all. That, of course, shows in their coffee. If it’s about the cakes, there is no doubt that this place is all about it, with their cakes usually full of fruits and other juicy bits to really accentuate the taste buds. Pastry-wise. Their pastries are homemade, so it’s tasty for a café of this name. Coffee-wise… Terrible. Maybe you should just come here for the dough instead, because their coffee is apparently a 50/50, depending on the barista’s mood. Just a meh for me, I guess. Of course, if you are into the cakes and pastries that occasionally have fruits and raisins in it, this is the place for it. If you are not… Then buy some Nescafé boys.

At first glance the café seemed a bit snug but what it lacked in space it made up for with its delicious pastries. There’s a less than 10 tables in this joint and I was lucky enough to get a table outside with the fresh morning air. The barrister recommended the mushroom quiche and it did not disappoint. Just the right amount of mushroom to custard ratio, the quiche was delightful and bursting with flavor. I tried a few other sweet pastries too and they were just as good. The only thing I would complain about is the pricing, it’s a tad pricey for pastries in my opinion. But I must say I really like the atmosphere here, it’s really calm and soothing. I can see myself sitting here all day with my laptop catching up on some work during the weekends. Will definitely give this place a try again.

Seated at a nook in Section 17, this pint-sized café is handsomely fitted with artsy hangings, cutesy portrait of a bear and some cozy wooden furniture. And they make pretty good pastries. Made with zero preservatives and additives, some of the must-tries include the chocolate pistachio Danish and Raspberry Orchid Cake. Coffees are very decent too. Definitely a good neighborhood café when you come for a takeaway coffee.

My first visit to Butter + Beans was on a cold Sunday morning when I had to accompany my mother to visit an aunt in Section 17. We had stopped by the tiny shop to grab our morning cuppa as well as a pastry or two. A clever mural or two here, stylish brick walls there and heavily stocked up pastry racks were just a few things that decorated the interior of Butter + Beans. I had a macchiato(RM7) as well as a fig tart(RM10). My macchiato did nothing to impress, and severely lacked in taste. Fig tart was pretty good though. Butter + Beans was very affordable, no doubt about that. I just really wish they would amp up the effort on their coffee. I live so close by, and I would love nothing more than to FINALLY have a decent coffee joint where I can just bum out whenever I want to! Pretty please?

Being brought here by my cell group leader, and he was telling me that this is one of his favourite coffee spots so far. So, i did my usual ritual upon getting to a new coffee place — try their Caffè latte. For people who like bold bodied and coffee that gives you a kick in the nerves at the first sip, then this café definitely serves your kind of blends. However, I’m someone who is more into coffee which is smoother and with more texture. So far, in kuala lumpur my favourite is still the blend prepared by the coffee societe group. Anwyay, their coffee here is by no means not good. Their environment here is very hippie, having used a lot of wood for their interior they make the rather small space look quite vintage. They do have outdoor seats here where smoking is allowed. Also, they do serve a wide varieties of desserts here. So, yes it’s a great place for coffee break. Parking wise, it’s rather easy to get one here as this area is not usually crowded. Overall verdict, not bad coffee, cozy ambience, fair price.

This café provides a quaint and comfortable atmosphere. Like most cafes, you have your options of patisseries, cakes and coffee. The food here is quite decent but you can definitely find better elsewhere. The croissants and danish pastries taste average but I really enjoy the mille-crêpe cakes they provide. As for the coffee, it is good but as I mentioned before, you can find better elsewhere if you are particular. It’s a really nice café to come hang out with your friends, and it’s definitely a good option if you live close by.

Butter + Beans is a hidden café in Petaling Jaya. It is a cozy corner with premium coffee served and homemade pastries without any preservatives. In fact, this is the first café I got coffee art on my hot chocolate. My dear purposely bring me here just because the chocolate art. Sounds crazy but warm-hearted act by him. To be honest, Butter + Beans has seriously limited space, it only manage to put few tables. But since it is a hidden café, there isn’t many people come over Butter + Beans. Therefore, this is an excellent café you can stay for the entire evening. Not forgot to mention, there is a mural outside Butter + Beans. It was drawn by the famous artist who has transformed Georgetown old streets into famous attraction — Ernest Zachaveric. I was told that Zach is a friend of the café owner, so it is difficult to call him making a painting for the café. At a glance, Butter + Beans is definitely a good place for coffee hopping. Meanwhile, it is also a cozy place for you to stay with your loved one and friends. Come and discover this hidden café from the busy city in Happy Mansion, SS17.

Been hearing so much hype about this small café that I decided try it out for myself. The pastries which range from RM4– 10 were just as delicious as they looked, laid out across the counter, all golden and puffy. I couldn’t help but sample one. The hot chocolate on the other hand was just plain disappointing. Priced at RM10, it was simply watered down and verging on tasteless. Hopefully it was a simple anomaly. Interesting fact: the murals you see on the wall were painted by Ernest Zacharevic. I would return to simply enjoy the chilled out setting but not purely for its butter or beans.
