A cozy and convenient restaurant right in the centre of 1 Mont Kiara that serves westernized Japanese food.
The pasta is simply alright… nothing spectacular. I prefer the rice dishes more, especially the omurice with beef stew and fried rice with grilled beef. The pizzas aren’t that great, and can take up to 20 minutes. The rolls are too creamy for me, and so are some other dishes. Wish they had lighter pasta selections, like mentaiko spaghetti or wafu spaghetti.
In short, I’ve had better Japanese Italian at many other venues.

Pasta zanmai is one of the branches of the rakuzen and sushi zanmai family. They decent priced Japanese fused dishes which are pasta and they also have rolls which could be the usual seaweed or just with vegetables on it’s own. My favorite would be their avocado crabmeat pasta with sesame dressing. The sesame dressing is to die for! It’s very delicious!
I would usually order green tea that would cost about rm2 with refills. A meal could cost about 20−30rm on average depending on what you would want to have. It’s a pretty comfortable place to dine at as well, with visible Japanese chefs and waiters wearing mustard yellow uniforms.

Situated at the centre with a look out you can never miss, after you enter the entrance, pasta zanmai is just right in front of you. Not your average sushi place to have fish or chawan mushi or typical thing you order in a Japanese Restaurant and so on because this place have PASTA! pasta with seafood, pasta with scallops, pasta cabonara, PASTA! but they also do have sushi but come here for the pasta.
The last time i came here, i tried the pasta with scallop and it and it was cooked in a aglio olio style, with lots of mushrooms and scallops. There is also crab pasta where many people ordered. I love coming here when im craving for pasta but not the western style but japanese style. The price may be pricey but good! I am definitely coming back here again.
