This huge park located along MRR2 from the Batu Caves roundabout heading towards to Kepong is the perfect place for you to fly your kites, have your daily run, and outdoor sports. I usually visit here during the weekend mornings and the only worry I get everytime is the extreme level parking. Yes, parking gets so full here you’re basically forced to park along the highway and you usually have to make a choice very hastily as you won’t want to miss the park and make a huge u-turn as it’s a highway. I tried flying my kite here a few times, but the huge amount of people puts me off, so I rather use the time for my run or play some ultimate with friends. There’s vendors all over the entrance at the parking lot, so if you didn’t pack some H2O with you, don’t worry, lots of hydration options here. If I’m not wrong, the running route here is about 3 to 4 km revolving around the lake in the center. There’s also a cycling lane here, so you can bring your bike down for some rounds. The crowd appears during morning and evening hours. I mean, who will be here during the afternoon sun’s glory?

Had a great weekend evening in Taman Metropolitan Kepong. It can be easily seen if you take MRR2 from Batu Cave to Bandar Manjalara or vice versa, especially with many flying kites in the evening. Me and my friends went there for flying kites and the experience was fantastic. There are many Malay street vendors to offer you light snacks and drinks. We didn’t bring kite and buy from the sellers instead. We bought the cheapest one that costs us RM8. A beautifully made eager-shaped kite costs only RM20++. The price is way below my expectation. The kites come with sufficiently long thread. There is a huge space of lawn for people to fly kites. It is fantastic, just lie down and enjoy a blue sky with beautiful kites. Lovely! Then, we walked around the park. There is a lake and there is a 40-minute boat service around the lake(costs RM50 for 40 minutes and 4 pax). We didn’t get it because it is too expensive for us. Instead, we sat at the lakeside and enjoyed the sunset. Very calming and beautiful. The only drawback? So hard to get parking if you’re after 5pm(weekend). We had to park our car outside the park, along the highway street. That was the only option although it seemed dangerous. Everyone was doing the same. So, it made us a little less worried.
