I’ve become a true fan of Simple Life after my first meal. A plate of nasi lemak, soup and a few bites of fried rice left me completely and happily satiated — something I wasn’t expecting from a foodcourt stall. Their menu consists of healthy, vegetarian selections that aren’t easy to find in foodcourts. The tempei and pumpkin in nasi lemak made a delicious combination, and the rice was grainy and not greasy. Again, healthy. but without compromising on the flavors. Each plate is roughly 12 – 14 rm if not less. They offer specials during the weekdays where you get a free green tea per order. I wish they had more outlets throughout KL. Looking forward to trying other dishes, especially the laksa.

I love the food from SImple Life but this place did not impress me one bit. The staff is impatient, not very nice and the food was slightly bland. This is located inside the food court in KLCC so it is just a counter amongst others but the options seem to be as in any other SImple Life restaurant. I felt slightly rushed in my order and even though they offer deals for specific meals every day the service could be improved. I prefer ordering online than eating here again.

Being a vegan, people often tell me how«hard it is» or how it would be an «inconvenience» when being out with people. However, I’d beg to differ. I came across this cosy-looking restaurant in KLCC. Bright-eyed, with a rumbling tummy I was eager to try out some vegan treats. I was treated politely by the waiters, despite the restaurant being a full-house and they had to cater to everyone. I was also impressed by how alert the waiters were as they immediately cleaned up the tables after the previous customers left. I’ve discovered that their meals were slightly pricier ranging from RM7-RM23. Regardless, I ordered their Steamboat Set for 1 which costed me a whopping RM22. I ordered a side of water to go along with it. When the food came, I was stunned to see a huge bowl of soup with loads of veggies on the side. Go hard or go home, right? The food was utterly delicious, having me end up with a «food baby’. It was worth it as I did pay a lot more than I bargained for the amount of food that I could barely stomach. Simple Life would definitely justify the doubts of fellow non-vegans. I would definitely come here again.

As people are becoming increasingly health conscious with their diet and lifestyle, Simple Life is perfect for those who want a vegetarian meal without compromising on taste. The restaurant is always filled with people and that prompted me to try out this place as I wasn’t a big fan of vegetarian food. The menu surprised me as they offered dishes such as nasi lemak(with virgin coconut oil) and tom yam fried rice, dishes that you would never expect from a vegetarian place. These dishes are done in a healthier version by using brown rice and no msg. There are also a wide variety of chinese tong sui which are beneficial for the body. I ordered the tomato base pasta with fried mushrooms, a simple meal that was sufficient and I enjoyed the fried mushrooms. Food was delivered quickly and the price point was reasonable for vegetarian fare. I can see why people frequent this place despite the vegetarian menu.

This is probably the best option for anyone trying to eat vegetarian or vegan in KLCC. They have lots of options ranging from hearty vegan porridge to veggie Nasi lemak. My favorite thing to get at Simple Life is the Lei Cha. It is purple rice served with assorted vegetarian toppings. Including, beans, tofu, peanuts, pickled cabbage and a couple others that I don’t exactly recognize but are delicious :). I do believe it is also vegan. The Lei Cha also come with a green soup that is both warm and fresh at the same time. I am not exactly sure of the ingredients but it is assorted flavorful greens boiled down into a light soup. Tastes like celery, parsley and coriander all at once. Lots of flavor! There is some oil in there but it’s subtle. At food court prices this place can’t be beat for a vegetarian in KLCC.
