I was going grocery shopping one day at Eon in Riverwalk, Jalan Ipoh and I normally park at the outside area(not sure if it’s a legal parking spot but so many cars park there!), when I was walking back to my car I noticed a really big restaurant that opened up right opposite the car park. Weeks or months, that place just used to be a warehouse for storage and there was lots of lorries and dust and sands. Yesterday I just saw a nice big restaurant called Scrummy restaurant & café. They also had a bakery section which which was really big(hasn’t started yet though) but when I went in, I was like woah. This is a pretty huge restaurant man. Really really spacious, probably the size of 3 little shop lots. It stretches from one side to the other, giving it an airy feel. When I went in, there was nobody inside but I wanted to go and check to see if they’re started their business. They had an excellent choice of western menu and I didn’t think the price was bad at all. A meal is about RM15 on an average. I tried having their roasted salmon in asparagus and mash potato on the side, the meat just melts in your mouth and soaks into your taste buds leaving your craving so satisfied. I’m going to bring a friend here one day. At that time there was a promotion that was going on everyday between 12pm to 3pm. If you order any hot drink, you will get 1FREE dessert for only RM9! Seems like a pretty good deal to me! Haha.

For those who don’t know what«Scrummy» means, it refers to delicious/yummilicious. Now the next question is, does Scrummy at Jalan Ipoh live up to its name? My answer is NO. Let me list down my dislikes: * My carbonara sauce was quite diluted, hence didn’t finish the meal although I thought it was reasonably priced at RM16 in a café as such * Waiters do not attend to you. You would need to order from the counter * No car park in the premises. This area is known to be the most difficult place to find parking * It says that it offers bakery but I don’t see any. However, there are cakes and dessert served. Don’t put too much hope on the taste Ok, despite my disappointment, what I like about this place is the overall setting that is cosy and spacious. A colleague who had been to this place before felt the food served back then was better. My final say about this place is do try it out. Perhaps, you will experience better service and quality of food.

This is a quite newly opened restaurant in the Sentul neighbourhood — good news for those who are working around this area, in this case which is me, yay! It’s not too hard to notice if you’re already on the street as Scrummy is actually like a bungalow building on its own, with very big sign stating Scrummy. If you are not too familiar with the area, but if you know where River City Mall is, then Scrummy is right opposite the mall. I came here with my friend to experiment the new place for his birthday — quite a risk, no? However, the experience was not a disappointment, so that’s good. They are actually famous for their pasta here, which they do have a quite wide range of them for you to choose from here. I have picked their set of the day which was Spaghetti Vongole, coming with a dessert and iced lemon tea. To make sure that I won’t regret on the choice that I have made, I have asked the waiter what Spaghetti Vongole is, because I have not heard of it before honestly. The waiter actually wasn’t sure how to explain to me, but she made the effort to ask from the kitchen and came out with a quite descriptive explanation — la-la in the spaghetti with white broth — so a star for the efforts. My friend and I both ordered pasta and they were good! Now I know why the place could be well known for their pasta. The dessert they served that day was chocolate lava — see photo. Warm and rich chocolate bursting right after the first poke into it. I’m a chocolate lover myself, and this was so so satisfactory! If you like desserts and chocolates too, you might want to try this here. Not a very big portion, but just nice for one. Price here was okay, we have spent less than RM50 for both of us. For pasta, coffee and dessert, I would say that that’s a fair price. They do serve other dishes here as well, like steak, chicken chop and some Asians. So, go ahead and spoil yourself with the choices given. Parking on the other hand might not be easy to get here, as there are a lot of parking spots right outside the restaurant, but mostly illegal parkings, so just beware yea!
