Food at Nutmeg can be a hit or miss. Every time I come home to KL, I somehow end up at this place because Jeffrey — one of the managers — always treats my family right! Such a nice man. I landed up at Nutmeg on a Saturday night with my grandparents this time, and it was a fairly quiet evening so we didn’t have to wait or anything as you would with lunch. I ordered the fish and chips, while my grandma had the spaghetti marinara(with added chicken) and my grandpa had the tomato soup. My fish and chips was excellent and fairly priced(RM35++); loved the crunch in the fries and the slightly spicy tartar sauce. My grandma’s spaghetti was, however, way too dry and my grandma’s soup was too sour for his liking. It could be why Nom opened upstairs(Nom focuses mostly on pasta and pizza). We usually like the passionfruit pavlova, too, but that wasn’t available. On the whole, would recommend Nutmeg for affordable fare and good service. Nothing amazing, but solid nevertheless.

Finally visited Nutmeg after hearing good things about it for so many times on Unilocal, and even though it wasn’t a disappointment on my first visit, it wasn’t too overwhelming either. Of course, to be fair, I had quite a high expectation towards it then. One thing that really caught my attention would be their chef’s new cake ‘inventory’ when I was walking into Nutmeg — Kaya Ginger cake — wouldn’t that name gotten your curiosity aroused already? I ordered it, and despite of the fact that both ginger and kaya tasted good on their own, they don’t really belong to each other. I’m sorry, but to me, it tasted like a sad love story. «You’re good — it’s not you, it’s me.» Also tried their salt beef. How should I put it? The salt beef tasted really good, but its side dishes were some broccoli, cauliflower and baked potatoes, and they didn’t really blend in together either. They all tasted really good on their own, that’s why I’m still giving this place a 4 star. But, they just didn’t match together. About the drinks, I tried their iced fruit tea, which was more like a glass of orange juice. It was okay, not bad — but I just didn’t taste the tea part. Overall, the place was still good. I might still go back to try something else on the menu, hopefully the next time I will be wow-ed.

Since I am always looking for new breakfast, brunch and lunch places in Bangsar, i finally checked this place out the other day. I have to say the service was really good, staff were friendly and attentive, the waiter spilled my coffee so went back and made me a new one — I appreciate that level of service. I had the fritata, spanish style which was pretty decent, although a little under seasoned but it was accompanied with a fresh salad and some toast so it is a decent sized meal at only 18RM I will definietly return to check out some of the other items on the menu

Bangsar Village is a pretty competitive mall when it comes to cafes — plenty of cozy options with decent food and drinks! Nutmeg cleanly fits into this niche, not really standing out… But it performs perfectly well. Brunch is popular here, with a slightly more diverse menu than your average brunch place: baked eggs, fritatas, huevos ranchero!

Whenever I’m at Bangsar and I’m super hungry, Nutmeg is the perfect place to go as their portions are just right — not too big yet not too little, leaving enough space for desserts. I always go for their pan-seared slow cooked chicken with sautéed mushroom and garlic mash potatoes. Their Lasagna is not too bad as well but you will need that one serving between two or more friends. The cream and cheese is very filling. As for desserts, you only have to go for one thing to complete your meal, which is the Eton Mess. It’s basically vanilla meringues, lots of whipped cream, roasted raspberries, marshmallowy centres and sprinkled with almond flakes. It’s like Pavlova but way better. They have the lemon passionfruit pavlova as well if you like. It’s taste really good as well.

Nutmeg definitely has successfully pleasing people with their service and delicious food. Their space is really comfortable, with dim light, wooden table, mini flower, all of these are just making you very comfortable and feels like staying here longer. They also have a decent wi-fi so for you and your gadgets, though I barely see people here working because I think their overall ambience is more like for you to just have a good chat with whoever you are going with. Nutmeg also one of the place that sells a gluten free cake. It is really hard to find specific request cake in Bangsar, and nutmeg is one of really few places to go to. Other than cake, they have pretty decent dishes as well like grilled chicken with sweet potato creamed spinach. Even the dishes sounds appetising already. Their food is definitely the type of food that you would like to try cook at home. So definitely will recommend this place to people! p.s: their place is most likely crowded, so bear in mind sometimes it could be a little bit noisy and you have to come on right time to get good seat. :)

Nutmeg is definitely one of the trendier brunch cafes in Bangsar to check out, amongst a sea of other trendy brunch cafes! What makes Nutmeg stands out is the fact that is a small family-run business in Bangsar Village 2, with a small but cosy space that is always packed with people especially on the weekends. Curious as to why it was always so busy, I decided to pop by one late morning to give it a try. I ordered the Croissant Sandwich which is basically raw salmon and creamy scrambled eggs over a tasty buttery croissant, sprinkled with ground black pepper and parsley and a side of sautéed spinach. A simple yet delicious fare that surely satisfies the tummy and palette! The spinach frittata is also another must-try — the perfect blend of sun dried tomatoes, eggs and blue cheese. To end my brunch I decided to try one of the desserts, the warm chocolate pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was a marvelous creation and the best end to a great meal. Their coffee was standard — I had a regular latte– but their service was really good and prompt. I will definitely be back again in the near future and this time I will bring all my friends!

I’ve been staying around Bangsar area of quite sometimes, but this is my first time visit to Nutmeg. I heard that it has been opening for almost two years but never know its existence. Not sure whether I was too hungry this morning, when I first walked into the café, I felt great, really great by the smell of the coffee and food. People were chit-chating while having their breakfast. I really love the ambience of Nutmeg. In fact, it is hard to find a café in a mall actually. I ordered myself a French toast, topped with Banana, almonds and butterscotch(recommended by the waiter), while my sister ordered the toast with salmon on the top(can’t remember the exact name). The French toast was expected to be served in 10 – 15 minutes due to the preparation time. I tried the Salmon toast of my sister, the toast was just so so(I think you can cook better at home), salmon and the side dish(salads) were quite good. My sister even asked what is the dressing they used for salad. After a while, my French Toast was served. It was quite a big portion and I can’t finish the whole thing by my own. It actually tasted quite good. But after i finished half of them and i came to realise that it was actually quite sweet. LOL! But overall is quite good, the waiters are friendly. I will want to revisit the café again to try out some other food.(seems lot of choices on the menu)

Nutmeg serves scrumptious western food such as the normal pastas, sandwiches and they offer a wide selection of cakes. I really enjoyed the yoghurt parfait and salted beef sandwich together with my drink which was a weird but delicious combination of sugarcane and passion fruit. The portion was suitable, not too big and not too small, and the food came very fast. Besides that, the service was excellent and the price was reasonable.

Dash of Nutmeg is definitely very eye-catching with the food truck design. It reminds of me the food truck that you’ll find at a park in overseas. They are a «grab-and-go» concept, so you’ll find the menu consists mostly of salad, sandwiches and pies. However, they have some main dishes too. I had the Lamb Calzone and Salted Beef Pie. The calzone was a disappointment. The fillings were hardly there and it’s was almost empty. On the other hand, the pie was quite good. The pastry was flaky and buttery, and fillings were satisfying and creamy. Joe had the Smoked Chicken Sandwich, and it was a decent sandwich. The chicken was tender and smoky, and the sandwich came in a decent size too. Definitely enough to be eaten as a proper meal, especially if you are in a rush. Overall, it was quite an ok experience with Dash of Nutmeg. I’d probably be trying the sandwich during my next visit, and never ordering the calzone again.

While everyone else wants to do their café’s in shipping containers, these guys decided to do theirs in a bus! It is parked right in between Bangsar Village 1 and Bangsar Village 2, on the bridge that connects those two buildings. There’s only one bridge so you’re not going to miss it if you decide to go down that path. It is the only blue truck you will see in this mall. Their salads here are AH-MAAAAAAAA-ZING! It’s their ingredients + how they present it. I have a thing for sandwiches. This is what they have on their menu; Smoke Chicken on Tomato Foccacia, Salmon Gravlax on Rye, Pastrami Ruben on Brioche Roll and many many more crazy ones. They have Salads, small bites, cakes and deserts like muffins, scones, brownies, tarts, granola bars, giant cookies, fresh fruit juices and lots more that will make your mouth water for sure!

I like this place best for their breakfast and brunch food. They have pretty good Belgian waffles and their french toast is nice and fluffy. If you’re in the mood for pasta, I think that the spicy tomato eggplant spaghetti is fantastic. It’s actually one of my favorite pastas. As for their desserts, they have their chocolate fudge cake which is one of their bestsellers. I also tried their Reese peanut butter and chocolate cake, which was quite good. It’s located in Bangsar Village 2 so you can just park there.

The sight of the blue food truck inside Bangsar Village will definitely catch your eye as its an elevated version of your typical food truck. The sister of Nutmeg in BVII, Dash of Nutmeg is the simpler express version as the seating options are limited. Most diners will usually take away their meal as the place is always empty every time I walk pass. In terms of variety, the sandwiches, pizzas and cakes are enough to make your mouth water. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and pizza while I sat down at the place. Complimentary Water is provided. The pizza took quite a while to cook and when it came the crust was quite hard and the beef bacon was all burned. The bolognese was decent though it was served in a plastic kiddy bowl. Prices are actually steep here for the less than hearty portions you get so I would think twice if i was looking for a fulfilling lunch.

I’m here mostly during brunch, its my favorite time of the day actually. I usually opt for the Big Breakfast here, and man, this is one BIG Breakfast. I find sometimes biting off more than I can chew sometimes, definitely worth the money. Aside from being big in portion, it also taste absolutely delicious. The perfect eggs, the perfect bacon, all on one big plate. I’ve also tried a desert once, French Toast to be exact. This however, wasn’t the brightest desert out there. It was not bad, just average I would say. Sticking to the Breakfast would be my one decision.

Nutmeg is one of those things where you can do wondrous things with it; you can put it as a garnish, as a tasty treat in your noodles or you can smoke– Oops. Anyway. It seemed to me that many foodies choose to revere this place due to the menu itself. From the tender smoked salmon to the pancakes, the choices are near to endless, and will leave your mouth watering for more and more. It also serves as a café too, with its coffee being said as smooth and not acidic to the mouth. The service in this restaurant is comparable to the more high class pleasantries you find in KL, so this is a must try for those who are willing to pay a bit more to taste good and delicious food.

I was poking and prodding at what looked like the fluffiest, creamiest scrambled eggs I have ever set my eyes on. I couldn’t believe it! I believe it is a part of my undying charm that I can actually cook. I’ve made my fair share of scrambled eggs but not one of them turned out like this! It was so fluffy it was almost offensive. It was nicely nestled in between a croissant and pieces of smoked salmon. The best darn breakfast I’ve ever had. You know how in some cooking schools; the prerequisite is that you have to make the perfect omelet? Well if it was scrambled eggs instead of omelets, I would have failed! Whoever cooked my eggs that morning must’ve been accepted. Nutmeg is one of those bistros where it’s both comfortable for a quick lunch or a long, leisurely dinner. It’s like a good clutch bag or a little black dress. Going from day to night seamlessly. I’m sure I’m not the only one raving about this place, so do read the other reviews. And also ask for the chefs’ autograph. He’s gon’ be famous one day!

I was meeting up with a friend in Bangsar and she suggested Nutmeg in Bangsar Village II for lunch. Nutmeg is a casual dining restaurant/café serving all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner and different local specialities. The menu is simple but with enough delectable variety such as: brioche French toast, salt beef hash, Spanish frittata, or sandwiches and bagels. I decided to try their Southern Fried Breakfast(RM26), which comes with two eggs, a piece of Southern fried chicken, biscuit, gravy, hashed potatoes and a side salad. A hearty, satisfying breakfast! For dessert, we ordered the OMG! chocolate fudge cake. The cake is huge and if they served it with vanilla ice cream, you will love it. The cake is not too sweet, which make is perfect. Verdict: A great place with genuinely friendly staff who are able to recommend you good meals.

Dash is the kiosk extension of Nutmeg. I am a raving fan of Nutmeg, and Dash does it justice! It offers seating options, but the idea is to order take-away. The service is just as good as it is in Nutmeg, and the menu is just great! I am addicted to the quinoa salad, an the banana french toast is to die for! I strongly recommend you stop by Dash when strolling around Bangsar Village!

This place just nocks me off! I cannot understand how they built it. sometimes I wonder if it’s an actual truck! well maybe it is. the spot is just amazing, it’s right after you get out of the Bangsar Village I Skywalk to Bangsar Village II. They have a mixture of food menus, from french toast to pizzas to cupcakes. you name it they’ll serve it. It’s a great snack place. the portion isn’t so big so wouldn’t advice if you are hungry. The meals are not expensive at all which makes it affordable for low budget hangouts. The serves are really nice and they speak english too :)

One more super cosy and hipster like café with brilliant atmosphere and amazing design! All the details make it into a place that you must visit. Their décor involves even some spice of humour with this entertaining quote on the wall«Eat whatever you want & if anyone lectures you… Eat them too!» They offer very simple menu with not too much choice, but the good thing about is, that is does’t matter what you are going to order, because it is going to be delicious no matter what! However, I have to advise you to try their beef hash that tastes like a piece of heaven. It will definitely be a scrumptious western meal, if you end it with some carrot cake and a sweet latte! It’s a MUST to visit !
