A good Italian restaurant that has the romantic vibe. Definitely a place for date night or celebration during dinner although we came here just for a normal lunch. Do remember to make reservations for dinner time as they are really packed during the evening. Risotto is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The pizzas here are really good as well from the crust to the toppings. Food here feels pretty authentic. Price is a little on the higher side but it is worth it. Parking might be an issue so good luck.

My family treats La Risata like an extension of out home — nearly every birthday or anniversary gets faithfully celebrated here. Ambience wise it’s cozy and always welcoming — the menu offers a range of Italian dishes, from the familiar(spaghetti carbonara) to the more exotic(seafood gnocchi). Alas, I’ve noticed there’s been a noticeable decline in quality of food. Or maybe I’m just jaded because it’s starting to seem like every new place does pasta and pizza better. ;(

La Risata is just okay. The food is average and the cost I think is quite high for the quality. Perhaps since there is a lack of good Italian food in KL is popular. I have been there 5 times, mostly for group dinners, I wouldn’t go there again if I had to choose a place.

La Risata is my favorite Italian restaurant simply because its authentic and like no other Italian restaurant i’ve ever tried. The pasta’s here are all amazingly delicious and the pizza’s are the best! This restaurant is only 15 minutes from my home so i go pretty regularly and have never been disappointed so far. Parking is a pain here cause there are not many spots available, usually you have to park pretty ar and walk down. On weekends you wanna make reservations early cause they are always a full house and you would regret walking in. The best pasta here is the poached lobster tomato sauce pasta, yes i cant remember the name. The carbonara is good too and the cheese and spinach gnocchi. I dont usually like gnocchi but this really blew me away(i went back three days later for more!). It is slightly expensive this place but trust me its wort every cent.

Since moving to Ampang, La Risata has become one of my favourite restaurants. I love that my husband and I can come here for a romantic dinner for two and yet bring our daughter here for lunch on a weekend as well. It’s kid-friendly and the staff are awesome. The interior is so nice and reminiscent of a loft. It has high ceilings and lots of wooden beams which makes it very cozy. During peak hours they are full so best to make a reservation especially on weekend nights. Once you order, you will be served some complimentary bread and tapenade(black olive dip). I am not a huge fan of olives but I absolutely love this dip! It tastes slightly salty and goes very well with the paired bread. My husband and I usually finish off this bread in under ten minutes. Be careful if you are on a first date though; sometimes the black olive pieces can get stuck in your teeth. My husband will bluntly tell me so but it may make for an awkward first date. For appetisers we usually get the calamari and the bruschetta which are both winners in our books. On other occasions when I have dined here with friends or my mom, I would order their salad with pumpkin, pine nuts and ricotta. Drizzled in balsamic vinegar dressing, this salad is light yet full of flavour. For mains, I usually share it someone as I find that pasta dishes tend to get me feeling full very fast. The gnocchi with lamb sausage is a favourite. The pizzas here are wood fired and taste great, obviously much better than the delivery fast-food kind. The Pizza Carbonara is unique and tasty but again needs to be shared as the cream sauce can taste heavy’ after 3 slices. The desserts are delicious too with my favourites being the dark chocolate cake and the panna cotta. On my 4 year-wedding anniversary I had dinner here with my husband and when our favourite server found out, we got dessert on the house. The good food and service definitely keep us coming back.

I came here twice, and I don’t think I want to come back again. My first experience was good, that’s why I come back again for the next. Well the second time with my family was disastrous. 1. My drink took ages to arrive. Even after my food is served, I still don’t get the see the shadow of it. 2. Their serving speed for food was slow too. There’s 4 of us. The dishes came out one by one. After one person finished, then only the next dish arrive. You imagine how long is the wait for the last person? We’re bloody hungry you know? 3. Beef was requested to be medium rare. We got a well done. Never mind, complained to them but then they said«oh so sorry we will make you a new one». My dad was already halfway through his dish and could not imagine the next wait for the dish to arrive again. So he said it’s ok.(which we think that they will cut it off their bill, because it was really bad) 4. My drink finally arrived after the last dish was served. 5. Well it does seem like the food portion was not very big, so we decided to order a basic pasta. It was so so. Most basic Aglio Olio also cannot cook properly meh? 6. My mom’s salmon was rather bland. She did complained about it too. The waitress said«oh it’s a way to retain the fish’s freshness». So meaning they are not really admitting that it’s their fault la. Because it’s really tasteless lah omg. 7. They did not give any discounts or deductions, not even a free dessert to say that they are sorry. I cannot believe this. Out of 4 dishes, 2 of them suck, you don’t know that’s a 50% failure there is it? Ok never mind, I won’t come back for these already la. So continue with the spirit, and good luck!

The award-winning Italian restaurant is well-hidden in a nook of Ampang. Though it’s not hard to locate. In a city where Italian restaurants usually pride themselves as fine dining, La Risata is more of a casual affair. We like that there’s nothing too try hard about this two storey restaurant. Romantically-outfitted and heavy on the wooden fixtures, La Risata is attractive without being instrusive. It’s the kind of place you can bring your girlfriend for a date but also your family for a nice meal. As for the offering, the pizzas are definitely stand-outs. But the mains like wood fired oven roasted beef and braised chicken are equally good too. Of course, you can’t go wrong by ordering the pastas. To finish the night, best go with the coffee with liqeurs. There’s also an extensive wine list to go with your hearty Italian fare.

La Risata makes amazing Italian food. Whether it’s their appetizers, main course or desserts, they make it really well. My girlfriends and I checked it out one night, and the place was packed, with good reason. Everything we ordered just seemed to be amazing. Their Pizza Salmone had very light cream and it went perfectly with the smoked salmon and capers. We also had the Gnocchi with lamb chorizo sausage and ricotta cheese which was quite mouth watering. And for dessert we had the most authentic tiramisu. The entire setting of the restaurant is rustic Italian and everything just compliments each other so perfectly. They also have a great selection of Italian wine. The restaurant is located around a housing area so parking is is a little tricky as you would probably have to park in front of a random house and walk up(especially on a busy night at the restaurant). This restaurant is especially perfect for a romantic dinner with your significant other.

La Risata is where I go if I’m craving non-fancy Italian food. It may not be the most authentic Italian restaurant around, but the food here is comforting and hearty. I find the creamy pastas here way too creamy but stick to the simple seafood pasta cooked in foil for consistency. The service here is not the best either, but it’s passable for a place like La Risata. One time, I had a waiter who brought me the wrong dish twice, but on a different visit, a waiter brought me a complimentary slice of cake so it’s a bit up and down. The prices here aren’t bad; it’s definitely a better option to come to La Risata than Italiannies if you’re looking for a quick, weeknight Italian dinner that won’t break the bank.

La Risata is a nice Italian place that is great for a romantic dinner or casual lunch. There is some very nice outdoor seating that is great in the evenings. The menu at La Risata has a pretty standard Italian selection. Pizzas, pasta, some nice mains and good appetizers. My favorite thing to get is the pesto and prawn gamberi. It is spectacular. The pesto is just right and they always include TONS of prawns, perfectly shelled before cooking so they are ready to just pop in your mouth. Delicious! La Risata is not a bad place to have some food and a glass of wine. Chilling outside when the weather is nice is great on this little street.

La Risata is a household name for Italian food. My boyfriend and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary in this lovely restaurant. According to my friends, this restaurant is the ideal place for you to dine in with your love one. I cannot agree more with that statement. Since there are 2 branches, patrons living in Petaling Jaya can visit the Damansara branch while KL-lites will be able to patronize the Ampang branch. Reservation is made easily(maybe I was lucky because there weren’t many people in the restaurant at that time). I called up at 7pm to book for a 7.30pm reservation(so much win!). Upon arriving, we were greeted with sincere smiles where waiters were kind enough to accommodate us where they led us to our sits and passed us the menu. On the first look on the food menu(your heart will jump a little but then when you sit back, you will realize that it is Italian food after all). La Risata didn’t disappoint us at all as their food was super delicious! We had pizza, pasta and mocktail. All I can say is that I don’t mind paying more for the food that was served. In addition, you will find that the ambience of this restaurant is very soothing, and lively. Especially birthdays when the restaurant lights will be off, and the workers will be singing a birthday song for the birthday girl or boy. It is pretty exciting. There was ample parking(we parked right in front of the restaurant). In summary, this Italian restaurant is a must-go! I definitely will visit again(even if there are no celebrations).

If you’re looking for authentic italian, La Risata would be your place to go. The location may be easily missed, but if you have a trusty GPS or phone, it wouldn’t be much hassle. The interior is very nicely decorated, with a huge black board written with their signatures and specials of the week/month. I’m gonna start off with the service as it was excellent, it should be for a considerably high end restaurant. It’s menu covers from the most basic italian dishes like the Aglio Olio and Bolognese to not so common ones like a Lobster Risotto. No doubt, the meals were very presentable and packs an amazing taste. They have a selection of wine, but I didn’t get to try any as it wasn’t that kind of night for me. Price is abit on the top, but worth your pennies. Definitely a must try be it for an occasion or just a dinner.

If you’re a bit of a snob when it comes to Italian food, La Risata is probably the place to humble your tastebuds and leave you pretty satisfied. Sure you’ll find atypical fare like spaghetti Bolognese and lasagna but here is where you will also come into contact with some of the best wood fired pizzas and slightly obscure albeit authentic dishes that won’t be out of place on the dining table of the home of any Italian mother on a Sunday. The mushroom soup here is hands down one of the best I’ve had in restaurants; indulgent, rich, aromatic and loaded with bits of mushrooms that you can bite into. So satisfying. Also lookout for the insalata verdure grillia which is a warm salad featuring marinated zucchini and roasted peppers in verdant olive oil. The pizzas here are in a league of their own. My top picks would be the smoked duck pizza with rocket leaves and caramelize onions and the pizza carbonara, decadent with mushrooms, beef bacon and a combination of parmesan and mozzarella cheese
