Golden Sun Restaurant

Known as Kuchai Lama’s Club House, Golden Sun Seafood is located along a highway stretch adjacent to the Ajinomoto Factory.
I joined my friend for a dim sum buffet promotion here one morning. Parking was not an issue and it was free! That’s some great marketing skills. Walking into the restaurant, we noticed that it was really big and spacious. Perfect for functions, or even family reunion dinner!
The kind receptionist showed us to our table, normally catering for huge events and families; they did not have a table for two so we got to sit at a huge round table enough for 12.
We tucked into our beige colored upholsters as the air conditioner was on at full blast, quickly ordering away. Unlike other dim sum places, it’s a self-​service concept except for several dishes like the Chee Cheong Fun which you will have to order.
Famous for their dim sum, Golden Sun definitely kept up to its reputation. I would like to consider myself a dim sum expert, a self-​proclaimed one I might add and I was more that satisfied with the dim sums. The Siew Mai (Steamed pork dumpling) had the right balance between meat and skin, not too much flour. Biting into my favourite Xiao Long Bao, I could taste the ginger and pork broth which spilled a little as it was piping hot.
Staffs are very professional and receptive. Since we were there for the promotion, we didn’t know how much each basket costs but we did some digging and each basket would cost you a range between RM3.00 — RM8.00.

Searching a venue for an event wasn’t easy since I’m not familiar with restaurants in Kuchai Lama, but eventually I came across this restaurant Golden Sun and decided to give it A GO!
Their dim sum is superb! It amazes me since I did not put too much hope. It was relatively easy to locate this place (if you know where Ajinomoto factory is — it is literally just located on the same row). Plenty of parking available too (200 parking lots)! You don’t need to worry for a costly fee because parking is free.
Their dim sum was reasonably price (sometimes more reasonable from those restaurants that specialise selling dim sum), but what makes this place special is the quality of the food!!! You can expect your food to be fresh, especially the seafood dim sum. You can also expect each dim sum size is slightly larger than others and it is delicious!!! I specially loved their herbs dim sum — you should give it a try too!
Price ranges from RM4.60 per plate — very reasonable and sometimes they have different promotions in house or via groupon. Catch it if you can :)
Service there is quite good. Waiters are quite attentive even at busy times. Most times they will bring the trolley out and go to each table, but you can also place your order from the waiters available (this will be faster).
The ambience inside is comfortable, very clean (they are rated A for cleanliness) and has ample of space if you have a large group of people. They also cater for events that fit up to 38 tables.
