Fisherman’s Wharf is actually a great place to hang out with your buddies and many senior members of the community can often be seen here enjoying a pint of beer. They’re actually more of a pub than anything else. However, if you come here for the food, be sure to try the carbonara fettucine. It has little bits of crispy beef strips that give it a really great twist. The chicken chop and fish and chips here is worth a try as well. Best of all the prices are more affordable than many cafes selling western food in the area.

After having passed by an array of Asian cuisines down the street of Taman Desa, The Fisherman’s Wharf came across as something different for a change. It sells western dishes but inside, it is decorated with paintings that could only come from Thailand or Cambodia. It is usually quiet during lunch hours. They have a lunch set menu that gives us a two course meal: a starter and a main course, and a drink at a reasonable price. I had the mushroom soup to start, and some fish and chips as my main, with an iced lemon tea as my drink. The mushroom soup was creamy and rich. It has small chunks of mushrooms in it. There is a slice of garlic bread on the side to be dipped into the mushroom soup, or not. The garlic bread wasn’t very fresh to me, but edible nonetheless. The fish and chips was good. The fish was fresh, and it has some salad on the sides. The skin of the fish was crunchy and not too battered with flour. They are not very generous with the first serving of tartar sauce. I did ask for a second helping of it. I like my tartar sauce on fish and chips. Overall, dining at Fisherman’s Wharf was good and satisfactory.
