I don’t know if you’ve realised just by looking at it, but… *lowers voice* it is made of containers. The place is a strategically placed bar/restaurant. If you want to watch on-stage performances or fireworks held at the Publika Square, these are prime seats! You can choose 3 seating options: — outdoor/open air(upper floor) — closed section(upper floor, not properly air-conditioned) — semi outdoor(lower floor) However, there are a few things I didn’t like about my experience here: — the service is a bit slow — the food items here are pricey — the drinks aren’t cheap either — I was here on new years eve, it was pretty busy, so they got our orders wrong and they nearly charged us extra by not tracking our orders properly Some redeeming qualities — the view — the salmon cakes tastes not bad, especially with siracha

I was intrigued to check this place out because of how pretty it looked. A container café? How clever. I’m sold. When we got there, we headed straight upstairs. We waited quite a while for the waiter to come up with the menu, and again for him to come and take orders, and again when we wanted to pay for the bill. An area they might need to work on in the future. I also found the menu limited. We were there for an afternoon coffee session, so all we had were the cakes and drinks(I think I had the virgin mojito). I remembered thinking the place was overpriced(More than RM12 for a slice of cake) but I was willing to overlook that had it all tasted a little better than it did. It didn’t. Overall, I was glad that I went to check it out. Loved the concept, but the execution, not so much. Would I try this again? Maybe, for the novelty of eating inside a refurbished container.

From the same owners who brought Bar Blonde, a bar located in Jalan Doraisami a while back has return with a funkier and cooler look with a twist in the name… Bxie Blonde. Right smack in the middle of the Publika Square lays a funky turquoise container café, it is where you would find hip urban youngsters come to hang out with with friends over icy cold beers or coffee. Bxie Blonde consists of two floors and is rather cramped but it’s bearable. I like hanging out on the upper level right where that blonde angel is sitting.(its nice for photos! hehe) Good place to just chitchat over drinks and to snack on desserts.

I’ve never seen a bar in a container before. It’s literally is in a shipping container — so so unique. Parked right by the stage area at Publika Mall, you will not miss this spot. It’s not part of any buildings but just a trailer in the middle of everything else. It’s a Bar area where you can get drinks only and perhaps small bites. Not a dinner area. It’s just a place for you to chill over your smokes and coffee — or just alcohol if you prefer it that way. It has 2 floors(yes, there’s a trailer on top of a trailer) and is quite colorful(assuming that it wants to attract attention!)

In the new stylish world of Publika, more unorthodox shops are blossoming in this location, with Bxie Blonde being one of the more fashionable ones that set it apart from the others. Unlike most of the bistros or restaurants in Publika, it is mostly outdoor based, and is pretty much the best location to have a nice evening dinner with your friends after a long day of work. For its food, it offers the most intriguing combinations of flavour profile, from the crispy salmon cakes that are sautéed with hot sauce to the venerable Bolognese, where its taste has a much richer texture in comparison to the other restaurants. Despite its fashionista-like ambience and food, I feel that the menu is lacking a few items here and there, but no blame can be imposed on them; the kitchen, as far as I can see, is small, and the staff is kept to a minimum, thus leaving it little time to create a new menu to entice more customers. However, with its take on so many European and Pan-Asian dishes, there should be no surprises that this place will be a huge hit amongst the hipsters and the go-getters that live near Publika.
