Bens Publika is one of my favorite restaurants in Publika and as usual its always packed. Bens makes really good pasta’s and i almost always have a pasta. I love the garlic bread too. this particular outlet i like because of the ambiance and service. They have less foreign workers and so less effort needs to be put into ordering your food cause the local staff understand you immediately. Like the Pavilion outlet has many foreign workers so we have a tough time communicating especially if you want something different for your order, like no this, or more this, they find it hard to understand. Regardless, food at Bens is always on par and never would you get something below your expectations. Did i mention they have a variety of different cakes too? Most of them super yummy especially the chocolate cake and the rocky road. two of my faves.

Ben’s is one of the better places to have a decent Western meal in Publika compared to the rest. Although, they are a little pricier than the rest, it is worth every penny as the ambience has a good vibe that matches their food. Personally, I find this place an ideal first date/anniversary for couples. It does feel romantic. Also, on each table, there’s a deck of question cards for the patrons to play/icebreak while waiting for their meals. Service at Ben’s is wonderful, the staffs are ever so helpful and attentive. It gets pretty packed during dinner, so be prepared to wait for a table and then for the food.

I’m always here for their burgers and pastas. They never fail me!!! I love coming here for these food. Their pasta, even the simplest aglio olio tasted good! At times I’m also here for the soft shell crab pasta, which is their signature dish :) The burgers are great too! Aside from the food, the desserts are really good too. They have a wide array of dessert available. This place is always packed with people. We have to be on the waiting list at times during peak hours. The interior is very romantic, slightly warm and cosy and even the outdoor area feel comfortable. Waiters here are friendly and accommodating. In conclusion, highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I decided to go somewhere special for our anniversary so we decided to have dinner at Ben’s Publika. The outlet at Publika is bigger and the dining atmosphere is a little bit more ‘romantic’ especially if you sit at their outdoor dining area at night. Ben’s is usually packed especially during weekends, it’s better to call ahead to make a reservation. We didn’t make a reservation and decided to try our luck and luck was on our side(also we were there pretty early, around 6-ish before the dinner crowd start pouring in); we managed to get table inside the restaurant and pretty private one at that. We ordered the Chargrilled Stuffed Chicken Breast and the Teriyaki Salmon with Sesame Seed Crust, no pasta this time. The chicken was a tad dry but I really enjoyed the mash that came with it, the salmon however was fantastic. The teriyaki sauce was delightful and it didn’t over power the nature flavors of the salmon. We also had a side of fried wedges to go with our entrees; they were good, nice and crispy. Overall we had a good time here; the restaurant wasn’t too noisy so we were able to have enjoy each other’s conversation with some good food. Will always have fond memories here.

My server are dubious when three of us ordered a carbornara(I love carbonara), Ground beef pasta and seafood pasta. I do acknowledge Ben’s restaurant displayed a pleasant comfort with inventive decors that allowed the restaurant to look exceptionally remarkable but so far I am not convinced. Since my best friends tag me along to try so I thought I give it a try. It has one of best pasta I’ve ever had but it was like one year ago. Recently, I brought my family to give it a try and It was horrendous especially the branch outlet located in Publika. We arrived there at 7 pm, we waited for about 30 minutes due to the loads of people. Once we were served on our table and getting ready to order, we waited 10 minutes just to place an order, the waiters are slowly taking their time and ignoring us, that itself still could be forgiven. Finally, we ordered one set of carbornara, ground beef pasta and two sets of lasagna. Something irritates me, is that I remember waiting for more than an hour(++) for the pastas to arrive. Our beverages were not served as well during the period of time though I have been asking and asking countless times. We were starving and thirst to death. After an hour passed, our pasta and beverage were finally served. However, I see none other than deterioration. The pastas were horrendous, it taste so thick and dry(carbornara) to the point where I couldn’t taste anything. It may appear fancy and exquisite but the taste is a totally differ as it looks .As for others, they were quite standard. Fortunately, the beverages were quite satisfying. The pasta was fine but not something that excited me nor something I’d necessarily call for again but I would recommend the branch outlet in pavilion, they have better services and food.

I love Ben’s food for 3 reasons…(1) The food menu is plentiful(2) delicious and creatively made recipes that you can’t find elsewhere(3) contemporary set-up The service is commendable and the staff are pretty attentive too. I like how each category of the food has different ways of servicing — for ex: there are more than 10 types of salads, pastas, sandwiches and desserts for you to choose from! You won’t be disappointed with the quality of the food. Also, you can’t go wrong with their desserts! Though it is pricey, but I can assure you the experience is worthwhile.

Food: 4⁄5 Décor: 4⁄5 Service: 3⁄5 I love dining at the porch of this restaurant in the evening, the central location of this restaurant ensures a constant flow of people around. I am quite fond of the constant hum of upbeat voices as it gives off an energetic vibe. I came for dinner here with a friend and had a lovely night out. I ordered the house wine, a Shiraz which had a deep flavour to it. The shiraz paired really well with the thai beef salad I was having and the cheese burger for mains. The thai salad came on a plate of spinach and rocket with mango slices on the side. You had to be toss and mix it yourself which is a fun experience. For mains, I ordered a Ben’s cheese burger. It was served with a thick juicy patty coated with cheddar cheese. The fries were a little too salty for my taste but overall I enjoyed the meal. For a dessert I chose a macadamia caramel cheesecake, which had a light and creamy texture. The sauce that was drizzled around it was sweet and not too overwhelming. The décor of the place was nice and warm, with comfortable chairs. The wooden tables were also nicely spaced out which gave enough privacy so that we could have a decent conversation without fear of being overheard. The waiters were also friendly and welcoming. The service was a bit slow considering there weren’t that many people during this weekday lunch but maybe it was because they had lesser part time staff. However overall it was a decent lunch experience and I would recommend Ben’s to anyone.

Food: 4⁄5 Décor: 3⁄5 Service: 3⁄5 For a cheerful lunch or night dinner with companions, few areas could be better than the Bens at Publika. I came for lunch with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I ordered the sorbet cocktail which had a refreshing, cool, and light taste. The colour was a light green and the presentation was done really well with a sliced lime and a curved straw. I had the mushroom salad as a starter. Most salads come with only lettuce, but Ben’s salad featured rocket and spinach, both were very fresh and paired well with the sauteed mushrooms. The subtle hint of truffle oil also added flavour and the sprinkles of walnut on top gave a nice crunchy texture. I ordered the spaghetti bolognaise for mains, a personal favourite which is so deceptively simple but many places can get it quite wrong. Ben’s kitchen did a good job with their bolognaise, first off, the beef balls weren’t too hard or too soft, it was cooked quite nicely and had a chewy texture. The bolognaise sauce which I’m very particular about, was seasoned well, and the tomato flavour was not too overwhelming. The ambience of the place was very inviting and we enjoyed our dinner there. The lighting was warm and I really liked the long glass paneling which let in a lot of natural light. The service was average with our food arriving in under 15 mins. We really enjoyed our lunch and would definitely come back again!

Bens is a cool restaurant to go for a date. I say this because every table has a little box of quiz cards and Q&A’s, which is a great way to break the ice and kind of helps you get to know your friend just a little bit more! Ben’s serve fusion food from Western to Asian. Their Western menu has pastas and steaks! I’ve tried eating their lamb rack… very interesting but the portion they serve doesn’t match the price so that’s a little upsetting. Their Asian menu has food like Nasi Lemak, Noodles and many others. My favorite outlet is the one in Publika because they have a pretty section with a bar on the outside and is really romantic at night because of the candlelights. You can just go there for drinks if you’re not hungry!
